注意眼睛健康！60%的小胖威利儿童患有斜视

据估计，60%的小胖威利儿童患有斜视。因为他们眼位不正，两只眼不能同时看向同一目标。他们的双眼或单眼的向内眼角倾斜（内斜眼），或者是单眼或双眼向外眼角方向偏斜（外斜眼）。

斜视治疗的主要目标是恢复双眼视觉功能，应首先尝试消除斜视造成的知觉缺陷，两眼视力接近平衡后，再采用眼镜矫正，或者是手术治疗。

患有小胖威利的儿童一般会发育迟缓和学习困难，因此视力问题将会更加阻碍他们的成长。

并且除了斜视，患有小胖威利患者还可能会有其他的视力问题，如近视、远视或散光。

越早发现患儿潜在的眼睛问题，管理就越容易，治疗就更可能成功。但眼睛的问题在任何时候都可能发生，因此建议定期检查小胖患儿的眼睛。

PWS AND EYE CONDITIONS

It is estimated that 60% of children with PWS present with Strabismus.  This is where there is an abnormal alignment of the eyes.  The child's eyes may not move together — they may cross or one may wander to the side.  Treatments can include patching the stronger eye, corrective lenses or even surgery.

A child with PWS has developmental delays and learning difficulties so having vision problems as well impedes progress in all areas.

It is also common for people with PWS to have other vision problems, like short-sightedness, long-sightedness or Astigmatism.

The earlier in the life of a child with PWS that potential eye problems are detected, the easier the management will be and the more successful the likely outcome.  And problems can develop at any time so regular eye checks are recommended.
