Like many Tau weapons, the pulse driver cannon utilises pulse induction fields to propel huge bursts of plasma over great distances. The particle accelerator at the back of the gun bears the symbol of the Fire caste.

The pulse blastcannon uses Aggressive Reactive Charge technology (A.R.C for short) to hyper-accelerate plasma energy. A stream of negatively charged particles are fired from the gun milliseconds before the main plasma charge, accelerating the plasma blast into the target to explosive effect.

The Stormsurge has two crew. Most are graduates of the ballistic suit academy, though some, like the Shas’vre on the left, are veteran Fire Warriors with experience commanding battlesuits or tanks. He wears a hair braid to signify his rank. There are four crew heads in the kit: two bare heads and two helmeted. There are also three choices of targeting array for the suit, here picked out in red to denote the sept colours of Vior’la.

The Stormsurge mounts two weapon arrays that can deal with both armoured targets and infantry. The main weapon is the cluster rocket system, which saturates the enemy ranks with salvos of Drone-guided warheads. Below it are housed a pair of destroyer missiles, an advanced form of seeker missile, piloted by an AI targeting system so that they strike with millimetric precision. On the left of the cluster rockets is the Stormsurge’s targeting array, complete with optional support systems (there are three in the kit). Above the rockets a smart missile system sits elevated ready to fire.

The weapons systems were so huge that even with arms spread wide, Numitor could not have spanned the distance of a single launcher’s frontage. Auxiliary guns were fused to the flanks and underside of each missile array, whilst still more bristled atop them.

It was the Stormsurge KV122 at the time. A little heavier. More armour on the front, but too slow. He wanted me to pilot it as they perfected the torso controls. So I helped out. I recommended a lighter chassis. I went through four development stages. There was a problem with the recoil. Then Fio’o Bork’an Koba'ashi came up with the idea of stabilisers. I helped him with those. And when it was done, and perfect, and deadly, how could I leave it and say goodbye? I had to try it out myself. In combat. Against the foe. I just had to!

Numitor turned back into the Codex freefall position, explosions of tau flak bursting nearby to buffet him with tremendous forces. As the Assault Marines plummeted, the boxy missile arrays of the war goliath came into focus, the machine stomping around ponderously to get a better bearing on the Thunderhawk before letting fly. A profusion of missiles soared straight upwards towards the gunship, some no bigger than a tank shell, some as long as Numitor’s arm.

The goliath’s missile salvo, as orderly in their flight as a flock of migrating birds, hurtled upwards towards the Thunderhawk. They detonated upon the thick ceramite in a serial burst of explosions. The heavily-armoured gunship continued its headlong dive – scorched, swathed in flame, but unhurt.

Thin beams of blue light flickered vertical from drones in the sphere-nodes ridging the rooftops, glancing across the Thunderhawk’s prow. A moment later the artillery warsuit released two more missiles; they shot out at a sharp angle before veering upwards on an intercept course. These projectiles were of truly daunting size. Four fins ringed their thick bodies, extending and adjusting mid-flight as they roared towards the Thunderhawk coming at them in a vertical dive.

‘Numitor,’ said Omnid warily, ‘I am not so sure about these ones.’

The Sword’s heavy bolter sponsons thundered out their self-propelled bolts, but at such velocity and with such relatively small targets, they flew wide.

‘Sicarius, Vosarian, can you intercept those two missiles?’ asked Numitor.

‘We can try,’ said Sergeant Vosarian. Numitor saw Vosarian’s squad alter their flight path at full dive, jump packs flaring bright.

‘We can succeed,’ said Sicarius, blasting from Numitor’s blind spot towards the nearest missile. He put a plasma shot right atop the first missile’s squared-off warhead, and the sky was lit by a violent white burst. A split second later there was a thunderous boom that caused Numitor’s photolenses to dim before his vision blurred back into place.

The Thunderhawk fired its dorsal turbo-laser destructor, and a thick column of ruby energy burned vertically through the skies to bullseye the goliath warsuit straight and true. The killing force of the strike punched through the machine’s head, down through its chest, and out from between its splayed legs, gutting it completely in a blinding burst of scarlet light.

The Baneblade Foebreaker had served the Imperium of Mankind for over 10,000 years. It had been in battles that were now legend,fighting alongside Space Marine Primarchs when they still strode the stars.There was not a piece of its revered armour that had not been repaired or replaced. Always, Foebreaker had taken the enemy's best shot and lived to tell the tale. But not this day...

Not a single scrap of plasteel survived the ensuing explosive meltdown.

A colossal Ork Gargant terrorises the cities of Hul'aan. Its black-iron armour seems impervious to even the most intense pulse-fire and missile bombardments, and its formidable array of solid-shot cannons and projectile launchers annihilate entire Fire caste cadres in mere minutes. The gruff, static-laden laughter of its Ork pilots booms out over the Gargant's enormous vox-arrays as it crushes entire buildings to rubble with each swing of its great metal arms. Swarms of greenskins follow in the wake of this behemoth, bellowing praises to their gods of war. Only the Bork'an Earth caste scientist Tu'len and his experimental weapons division stand in the way of the monstrosity. Tu'len orders the deployment of six KV128 Stormsurge weapons platforms, each armed with multi-phase-locked pulse ARC cannons – a new refinement of these devastating devices. Even the enormous Stormsurge ballistic suits are dwarfed by the sheer size of the Ork Gargant, but when they fire their ARC cannons simultaneously the beams converge, melding into a ray of destructive energy as wide as a starscraper. This battering ram of pure annihilation burns through the Gargant's metal torso, setting off a chain reaction of detonations that tear the massive construct apart. Tu'len marks the first field test of his new technology as an impressive success, though the power of the channelled plasma energy has entirely immolated three of the six Stormsurge platforms.

With its own shields shrugging off the combined firepower of an entire company of super-heavy battle tanks, the nearest Stormsurge fired its pulse driver cannon, the recoil kicking up a new cloud of dust. PS：鉴于一个超重坦克连一般只有一台毒刃（幸运的话会有三台），所以KV128的护盾最多只能同时挡下三台超重坦克的齐射。
10.相对于自身的能量护盾，风暴潮的装甲要弱的多，仅仅只能抵挡骑士泰坦的复仇者加特林加农炮/Avenger gatling cannon （1）；而当满足一定条件（2）后，就连星际战士连长的动力剑都可以轻易地刺穿它的驾驶舱，将里面的驾驶员一击杀死（3）。
（1）作为回应，至高王泰巴尔特发出了咆哮，但是他的愤怒就和他的加特林加农炮一样毫无用处——那些炮弹在钛族的弹道服上炸了开来，没能造成任何伤害。
In response, High King Tybalt roared, but his rage was as ineffective as his gatling cannon - the shells bursting harmlessly off the Tau ballistic suits.

（2）所谓的条件：
a.这台风暴潮的驾驶员必须没有完成相关训练，没有驾驶轰击服的实战经验，而且还得独自作战。
b.白疤四连和死亡守望的作战机群必须不断地付出代价，对这台风暴潮的侧翼和后部发起攻击/the gue’la fliers were taking their toll as they fired into the Stormsurge’s exposed flanks and rear.
c.这台弹道服的一条腿必须被击至半毁，好让它无法移动，留在原地挨打/He could feel the suit’s pain as it stumbled on a half-ruined leg.
d.等这台KV128的主炮打光弹药/He felt the suit groaning as the railgun’s electromagnetic drives began to whine. They were spent.&The blastcannon was out.
e.不停地围攻这台弹道服，直至其系统下线、反应堆过热停机/ He tried to step away but the systems failed and one of his generators shut down. He had to override the heat warning indicators.
f.赔上所有荣誉卫士的性命/His honour guard were dead.
（3）等满足上述条件后，塔尔瓦尔兄弟会（The Tulwar Brotherhood）之主、剑刃大师（Master of Blades）、白疤战团的四连长巴特巴雅尔可汗（Batbayar Khan）就可以来到毫无抵抗能力的风暴潮面前，拔出他的佩剑，然后刺穿轰击服的驾驶舱，将里面的驾驶员杀死了。

Batbayar stopped in front of the machine. He would do it the honour of killing it himself. He judged the places where the crew were encased, and he struck with impeccable pose – his sword a sudden blur leaving two neat holes in the Stormsurge’s torso.

11.和主流的战斗服相比，身为双足步行坦克的kv128，其机动性不可不谓低下。这一缺点在肯达施之战中得到了充分的暴露。

On the Eastern Fringe, T'au invade the fortress world of Kendashi. While highly mobile Hunter Cadres keep the planet's Astra Militarum garrison divided and embattled, Stormsurge artillery walkers are ferried from one location to the next by Manta Missile Destroyers. The towering war engines use their phenomenal firepower to break open the interlocking networks of Imperial redoubts.

In response, the Deathwatch deploy Venator and Fortis Kill Teams to Kendashi. While the swift Venators and Deathwatch Bikers draw the fire of the Stormsurge gunners, the Fortis Kill Teams close in aboard their Repulsor tanks. The grav waves generated by the hulking tanks shatter the ice fields with their ferocity, sending massive cracks radiating outward. By the time the T'au realise the danger it is too late, and their Stormsurge walkers plunge through the collapsing ice to a watery grave. So does the war for Kendashi turn in the Imperium’s favour.

12.KV128的生产数量极其庞大，在第二次穆古拉斯湾之战期间，就连冰河世界珊'施（Sh'anshi）的上的临时流动训练学校都能获得100台KV128作为教具。但是在死亡守望和白疤四连的全力偷袭下，这个位于达摩克里斯湾最前线的流动学院遭到了彻底的破坏，这导致穆'古拉斯湾风暴潮驾驶员的供应被耽搁了好几个月。
位于Sh'anshi的风暴潮临时训练基地M'Yan'Ral，这个学校是位于达摩克里斯湾前线的KV128临时训练基地之一，负责为穆'古拉斯湾提供风暴潮驾驶员，虽然这里的驻军不多（1），遭到偷袭时兵力也处于极度的削弱状态（2），但是他们的仓促抵抗还是让白疤四连付出了阵亡27人的代价（3）。虽然对于钛帝国而言损失一百台KV128根本无关痛痒，但是对于当时身在穆'古拉斯湾对抗前来报仇的帝国复仇特遣舰队的影阳来说可就很头疼了（4）。

（2）在死亡守望和白疤正式发动偷袭前，驻守基地的精锐猎核都被派了出去（a）；而其空中力量更是在起飞前就被炸毁在了地面上，因此根本无法抵挡汹涌杀至的星际战士炮艇（b），而至于那100台训练中的KV128，由于近700名的训练生几乎全都被悄悄渗透进来的死望杀死了在食堂和自己的寝室之中，只有两人得以幸存，所以开打后仅有一台风暴潮能够出战。
（a）家门世界克'尔珊被给予了守卫这个设施的荣耀，因此我们对我们的职责很是上心。我已经把我最好的猎核全都派了出去。克鲁特人也在寻踪觅迹。如果有什么降落到这里的话，我们会发现它的。
Ke’lshan Sept has been granted the honour of guarding this facility and we take our duty seriously. I have sent my best hunter cadres out. The kroot too are hunting for signs. If anything landed here, we will find it.
