【雅思口语 1-4月】想一起学习工作的人 Describe someone yo

One person that I’d absolutely love to study and work with is my old college mate Bobby. I’ve known her since uni, though we lost contact over the years because she moved to another country and life got in the way for both of us. Despite this, I always remember fondly the days when we used to hang out and do group assignment together.

So back in uni, there were a lot of overlaps between the courses we took, and we would always find each other to be teammates in group projects. Over the years, we’d done countless projects together, ranging from group presentation to student films. Every time, we would come through with flying colors, which I think, can be partly attributed to the fact that we complement each other so well.

People would look at us and wonder why on earth we were friends: Bobby and I were like chalk and cheese. She’s always charismatic, with a wry sense of humor while I used to be really quiet and straightforward. But I think the difference is the exact reason why we made such a great team.

For example, when we brainstorm, she’s the one to come up with innovative, grand ideas while my no-nonsense practicality kept her grounded from time to time. On the other hand, when my detail-oriented mind got stuck in the tunnel vision, she could always remind me to look at the bigger picture from a more holistic perspective. 

Most importantly, I think deep down we are both empathetic individuals who’s willing to listen to, respect and consider each other’s opinions. Put together, I think those are the main reasons why teamwork with her felt so enlightening and enjoyable at the same time.
