Hello and welcome to Leaders Talk. We will meet leaders, thinkers, and trailblazers. I’m Zou Yun.
Today, we're here in Belgrade, capital city of Serbia. We're about to talk to our guests today, Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic.
Five years ago, she became the very first female Prime Minister, and in August of this year, she got appointed again as Prime Minister of Serbia. As she said, the new government is going to face circumstances unseen since World War II and needs to tackle challenges.
This is the meeting room for the cabinet meetings. These are all the, you know, seats of the ministers. This is the General Secretary of the government. This is my seat. This is the seat of the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs. This is the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance. He's a Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and the rest are ministers across the table. So, this is basically where the most important decisions are made here in the country.
A:And my cabinet is just upstairs. Well, I thought this would probably...
B:What is it like? It's like lots of fighting and quarreling, was like pretty civilized.
A:No, it's pretty civilized. You know, most of the quarreling is done behind closed doors one-on-one, and so basically, the decisions that are taken here are the decisions that have already been agreed.
Prime Minister Brnabic, thank you so much for joining us on the program. Well, first of all, congratulations on being appointed as Serbian Prime Minister for another term. I know recently you're very busy with the formation of the new government, and it seems that the situation actually this time is pretty tough.
Because he said in different occasions that the new government is going to face circumstances unseen since World War II, or it's going to face much more demanding challenges than the cabinet did two years ago. So, what is the government plan to tackle those challenges, and what are the most important principles at play?
Thank you very much. It's an honor to be a guest on your show. Yes, we have just formed the new government. This is my third term as the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia.
Leaders of both China and Serbia have said that the friendship between the two countries are iron-clad, and the bond of relations have becoming even more solid amid ever-changing environment.
And now we look forward to seeing more of the time-honored friendship turning into concrete cooperation. It opens a new chapter for China-Serbia relations. That'll do for this edition of Leaders Talk. I‘m Zou Yun in Belgrade. Many thanks for watching, and see you next time.
