汉语的“兼语式结构”可译成英语的“动宾结构”“动词加介词结构”或“双宾语结构”。

1. 他想强迫她注意。He wanted to compel her attention.

类似动词: declare，prove

2. 奥德先生立刻阻止她继续讲授。

Mr. Auld promptly forbade the continuance of her instruction.

3. 我介绍他加入协会。I recommended him for membership of the association.

4. 帮助她母亲送别客人。Laura helped her mother with the good-byes.

5. 有一次，他的车坏了，我开车载他回家。

Once I gave him a lift home when his car had broken down.

6. 她最终打破了沉默，为了使自己将来再婚的可能变得顺理成章，她向他保证很长一段

时间内她不会再婚，直到他能够完全独立生活。

She ultimately broke silence, qualifying her announcement of a probable second

marriage by assuring him that it would mot take place for a long time to come,

when he would be living quite independently of her.
