一转眼，周兴和的发展战略从国内转向海外，他和夫人小王，以及星河公司的员工，已经在世界各地奔波3年多了。
In a blink of an eye, since Zhou Xinghe's development strategy had shifted from the domestic to overseas, he, his wife, Wang, and the staff of Xinghe Company had been travelling around the world for more than three years.

2007年10月初，周兴和得到埃塞俄比亚政府通知，鉴于周兴和对埃国作出的重大贡献，经埃国国会通过，总统批准，决定授予他“政府杰出贡献奖”！并且吉尔玛总统要亲自给他颁发奖杯和证书——埃政府的这个奖励，代表着这个国家的最高荣誉。这个荣誉，能授予一个外国公民，这是极其少见的，能得到这个荣誉，那是多少人梦寐以求的愿望啊！
In early October of 2007, Zhou Xinghe was informed by the Ethiopian government that in view of Zhou Xinghe's great contribution to Ethiopia, the Ethiopian Parliament passed and the President approved the decision to award him the "Outstanding Contribution award". And President Gilmar himself would present him with a trophy and a credential - an award that represents the country's highest honor. This honor awarded to a foreign citizen, is extremely rare, and it is a dream of many people to obtain this honor!
得到这个消息后，周兴和竟浮想联翩夜不能寐。这使他想起前些年在国内孜孜不倦的追求、披星戴月的奋斗、苦不堪言的挣扎，但他得到了什么呢？在他看来，表面上是得到了鲜花和掌声，实质上得到是一团无休无止纠缠不清的乱麻，哪里能谈得上施展自己的才华，实现自己报负呢？而在这里，他只是做了一个中国公民应该做的事情，不但收获着政治和经济的成果，还得到了他国政府最高的褒奖，得到他国人民真诚的友谊。此情此景，周兴和才真正觉得在天涯找到了知己，在海角觅到了知音。
After getting the news, Zhou Xinghe could not sleep at night. It reminded him of the tireless pursuits, the day-and-night strives, the miserable struggles of years past. But what had he gained? In his opinion, he had gotten flowers and applauses on the surface, but in essence was a group of endless entangled mess, not to talk about displaying his talent, or achieve own ambition? But here, he only did what a Chinese citizen should do. 万籁俱寂，夜色苍茫。周兴和缓缓移步窗前，一阵清风吹来，撩起的窗帘一角从他脸上拂拭而过。他推南窗望中天，但见银河横亘繁星闪烁，对着异国这已经熟悉的山川，他轻轻吐了口气……
Everything was still and the night was deep. As Zhou Xinghe walked slowly to the window, a breeze blew and a corner of the lifted curtain brushed his face. He pushed the window and looked out into the sky, saw the stars shining across the Milky Way, and sighed a little towards the foreign land, where the mountains he knew so well...
几年的辛劳，真应了蒲松龄老先生那句话：“有志者，事竟成，破釜沉舟，百二秦关终属楚；苦心人，天不负，卧薪尝胆，三千越甲可吞吴。”这几年，他们除了与埃塞俄比亚愉快地合作，与俄罗斯、瑞典、埃及、苏丹、沙特、科威特、南非等10多个国家的合作也取得了成功，这些国家分别引进了“FGC”技术和设备，并在这些国家建立了20多个轻质建材生产厂。
Years of hard work, just as the saying of Pu Songling: "Where there is a will there is a way. Just like Xiang Yu, who burned his bridge and finally made the pass of Qin State all belong to Chu State. 2004年7月，苏丹政府与星河公司签订了投资4000万美元、建设15个“FGC”轻质墙材厂的协议。苏丹政府对这个项目建设极其重视，副总统曾两次为在苏丹建成的工厂剪过彩。当时，这位副总统表示，要免费赠送星河公司500亩土地，用于建立星河公司“FGC”科技园区，但因条件不太成熟，周兴和谢绝了他们。
In July of 2004, the Sudanese Government signed a US$40 million agreement with Xinghe Company for the construction of 15 "FGC" lightweight wall plants. The Sudanese government attached great importance to the construction of the project, and the Vice President had twice cut the ribbon for factories built in Sudan. At the time, the Vice President offered to give Xinghe Company 500 mu of land for the establishment of Xinghe "FGC" Science Park, but Zhou Xinghe turned them down because the conditions were not permitted.
在苏丹建厂时，周兴和正忙于筹备埃塞俄比亚“中非星河科技园”建设，没时间去参加那些厂的落成仪式。那里的工作人员向周兴和报告说，苏丹总统萨尔瓦多因为国事太忙，特委托他夫人参加了其中两个厂的落成仪式。萨尔瓦多总统夫人曾亲手将他们国家的国旗，画到了星河公司建设的厂房墙上。
When constructing the factory in Sudan, Zhou Xinghe was too busy preparing for Ethiopia's "China-Africa Xinghe Science Park" to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the factory in Sudan. Staff there reported to Zhou Xinhe that the Sudanese President Salvador had been too busy to attend the ceremony and delegated his wife for two ceremonies of the factories. The first lady Ms. Salvador painted her country's flag on the factory wall built by Xinghe Company.
2005年3月，周兴和应埃及政府邀请，飞抵开罗，与他们建设部长会谈后，总统穆巴拉克在总统府专门接见了他，详细了解了“FGC”在别国推广使用情况，以及在埃及建厂发展的前景等，并对星河建材在本国推广使用做了专门的批示。
In March of 2005, Zhou Xinghe flew to Cairo at the invitation of the Egyptian government and held talks with their construction minister. After that, President Mubarak received him in the presidential palace. He got a detailed understanding of the promotion and use of FGC in other countries, as well as the development prospect of building factories in Egypt, and made special instructions on the promotion and use of Xinghe Building Materials in his own country.
2005年8月，埃塞俄比亚首相梅莱斯签署文件，免费赠送星河公司在首都郊区的225亩土地，用于打造“中非星河科技园”，连办理土地证的费用都全免。四川科技厅厅长杨国安闻讯后，喜不自禁，专门给周兴和发来贺电表示祝贺。在埃国前期生产取得成功的基础上，2006年10月23日，埃国务部长阿可贝与周兴和签订了《中埃战略合作项目协议》，由星河公司前期投资5亿元人民币，建设8个“FGC”建材生产厂。
In August of 2005, Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles signed a document to give Xinghe Company 225 mu of land on the outskirts of the capital for building a "China-Africa Xinghe Science & Technology Park". Even the fee for obtaining the land certificates was free of charge. After hearing the news, Yang Guo’an, Director-General of Sichuan Science and Technology Department, was so pleased that he sent a congratulatory telegram to Zhou Xinghe. On the basis of the success of Ethiopia's early production, Minister of State Affairs Akobbe and Zhou Xinghe signed the "China-Ethiopia Strategic Cooperation Project Agreement" on October 23, 2006, in which Xinghe Company shall invest RMB 500 million in the early construction of 8 "FGC" building materials production plants.
周兴和“走出去”的战略，在世界各地取得巨大成功。他不但创造了可观的社会和经济效益，而且赢得了各国人民的尊重和友谊。
Zhou Xinghe's "going-abroad" strategy had achieved great success all over the world. He not only created considerable social and economic benefits, but also won the respect and friendship of people of all countries.
2007年10月28日下午，颁奖仪式如期在总统府举行。
On the afternoon of October 28, 2007, the award ceremony was held as scheduled in the presidential palace.
和煦阳光照射在总统府前的草坪上，繁茂的植物随风轻轻摇曳，稀有的花卉在阳光下尽情开放，仿佛在欢迎着来参加颁奖盛典的贵客们。
Warm sunshine was shining on the lawn before the presidential palace, luxuriant plants swayed gently with the wind, rare flowers blossomed under the sunshine, as if welcoming the distinguished guests who came to attend the grand award ceremony.
颁奖仪式在总统府大厅举行，气氛热烈而庄重。总统吉尔玛以及埃国务部长、建设部长、环境保护与建设部长等政府官员，以及我国驻埃塞俄比亚大使林琳及有关人员出席了这次颁奖仪式。
The ceremony was held in the hall of the presidential palace with a warm and solemn atmosphere. President Gilmar, Minister of State Affairs, Minister of Construction, Minister of Environmental Protection and Construction and other government officials, as well as our Ambassador to Ethiopia Lin Lin and other relevant personnel attended the award ceremony.
吉尔玛总统首先致辞。
President Gilmar firstly addressed the audience.
“在星河秸秆厂剪彩仪式上，我曾说过，‘星河的专利技术可改变非洲的建材历史’！通过几年的实践，证明了我们的这一结论是正确的！”总统吉尔玛在致辞中，他这样深情地讲道，“园区8个厂建成投产后，解决了当地上万人就业，建设了近10万栋民居；由于周兴和先生帮助我们找到菱镁矿，使我们新建了一个企业，也解决了1000多人就业，并取得良好的社会和经济效益。经财政结算证明，用周兴和先生发明的技术建房，可节约50%的造价；今后用他的外墙、楼板建房可节约70%的造价。中国的周兴和先生，是我们埃塞俄比亚真正的朋友，我代表全国人民感谢他！……”
"At the ribbon-cutting ceremony of Xinghe Straw Factory, I once said, 'Xinghe's patented technology can change the history of building materials in Africa'! Through years of practice, it has been proved that my conclusion is correct!" In his speech, President Gilmar said with deep affection, "After the completion and operation of eight factories in the Park, tens of thousands of local people have been employed and nearly 100,000 residential buildings have been built. Thanks to Mr. Zhou Xinghe's help in finding magnesite, we have set up a new enterprise, provided more than 1,000 jobs, and achieved good social and economic benefits. The financial settlement proves that the construction cost can be reduced by 50% by using the technology invented by Mr. Zhou Xinghe. In the future, the cost of building with his outer walls and floors can be saved by 70%. Mr. Zhou Xinghe from China is a true friend of Ethiopia. 我驻埃大使林琳在讲话中，多次举起右手，有些激动地讲道：“星河公司为国争了光！”
The Ambassador to Ethiopia, Lin Lin, raised his right hand many times in his speech and said with some excitement, "Xinghe Company has won the glory for our country!"
在轻快的乐曲和人们热烈的掌声中，周兴和走上主席台，从吉尔玛总统手中接过金光闪闪的奖杯和证书。华灯灿放，镁灯闪烁。奖杯和证书上，镌刻着埃国国徽和周兴和的名字。在热烈的掌声中，周兴和举起奖杯和证书，站在他人生的一个新的高点上，频频向全场的人们致意。在富丽堂皇的总统府大厅内，十几个记者跑前忙后，记录着这庄严神圣的历史时刻。
In the lilting music and enthusiastic applause of the crowd, Zhou Xinghe walked onto the rostrum to receive the glittering trophy and certificate from President Gilmar. Bright lights shone and camera lights flashed. The trophy and certificate were engraved with the national emblem of Ethiopia and the name of Zhou Xinghe. In the warm applauses, Zhou Xinghe held up the trophy and certificate and stood on a new high point in his life, frequently saluting the audience. In the grand hall of the presidential palace, a dozen journalists rushed to record the solemn and sacred historic moment.
“周兴和先生，能谈谈您此时此刻的感受吗？”新华社驻埃记者见周兴和走下主席台，抢先将话筒递到他面前。
"Mr. Zhou Xinghe, can you tell me something about your feelings at this moment?" The Xinhua News Agency journalist in Ethiopia saw Zhou Xinghe walking off the rostrum and offered the microphone to him first.
“我个人能得到这个荣誉，当然很高兴。但我认为，这个荣誉，它不应该仅仅属于我个人，而是应该属于我的祖国和人民。”周兴和停了停，接着讲到，“我周兴和只是一个微不足道的中国公民，但能为增强中国人民和非洲人民的友谊，做一点力所能及的事情，我感到很自豪；我能用自己发明的技术，让非洲人民能居有定所，我感到很欣慰。”
"Personally, I am very happy to receive this honor. But I believe that this honor should not belong to me alone, but to my country and people." Zhou Xinghe paused and then continued, "I, Zhou Xinghe, am a trivial Chinese citizen, but I am proud to do what I can to strengthen the friendship between the Chinese people and the African people. I'm glad that I can use the technology that I invented to give the people in Africa a place to live."
颁奖仪式结束后，吉尔玛总统举行晚宴，招待了所有来宾。他祝酒词中讲到：“周兴和先生为我们国家做出了贡献，我代表全国人民敬他三杯酒！”说完，他走到周兴和面前，对他说道，“这三杯酒，你自己开好酒瓶，自己倒上。”
After the award ceremony, President Gilmar held a dinner for all the guests. In his toast, he said, "Mr. Zhou Xinghe has made great contributions to our country. On behalf of the whole nation, I would like to propose three toasts to him." Then he went up to Zhou Xinghe and said to him, "you can open your own bottle and pour three glasses of wine for yourself."
“尊敬的吉尔玛总统，谢谢您。”总统的这个举动，在他们国家，算是最高礼遇了。周兴和尽管平时不喝酒，但他在吉尔玛总统面前，豪爽地和总统碰了杯，将三杯酒全部饮下。
"Your Excellency President Gilmar, thank you." The President's gesture was the highest compliment in his country. Zhou Xinghe, though not usually a drinker, nobly clinked the President’s glass and drank all three glasses of wine.
“好。”吉尔玛总统也干了自己杯中的酒，他笑吟吟地拍了拍周兴和的肩膀，对他点点头，然后离去。
"Good." President Gilmar drained his own glass, smiled, patted Zhou Xinghe on the shoulder, nodded to him, and left.
当天晚上，周兴和醉了。他陶醉在成功的喜悦中。
That night, Zhou Xinghe got drunk. He was intoxicated in his success.
