题目解析17—Have you applied for other program/company?

面试官为什么问这个问题？ 

1.你对这个项目的看重态度（唯一/首选/备胎） 

2.你真正感兴趣的东西（你到底根据哪些标准做选择）是否如一 

 注意事项： 

1. 最好表达出这个项目是首选，表达你对这个项目的热情 

2. 如果你确实只申请了一个，那就无所谓了，当然某种意义上这很假，所以要 convince 面

试官 

3. 如果你申了很多，那么建议半诚实地回答这个问题——没必要具体到其他所有项目，只

要说申请了其他的少数项目就可以了，面试官也可以理解面试者留有备选的行为。 

4. 要体现一致性，比如不能又申直博又申专硕

PART1  首选 

I’ve applied for another program (这里可以举几个水平和贵项目相近的例子), however, this 

program is my number one choice and it really stood out to me as (something) which I can see myself doing long term. I love the university and believe in its ethos. (下划线部分补充可以参照题目：为什么选择我们学校) 

PART2  强调热情 

While I am seriously exploring other program where I can pursue my value, your program is a primary target for me. 

Sample: leverage other to support the target 

Yes，I applied for A and B for the same time, but A is my first choice and recently I’m 

concentrating on preparing for your program all the time. However , B is also in my bucket due to its strengths in the same area with A. [表面讲 B 的优势，但实质上也是 A 的优势]. 

As is known, A is the tier 1 program in the above area. But if I am not chosen, I would hope I can still keep stick to my pursuit and plan by having a backup plan, as [讲自己与目标的契合，但实质上也是在讲与 A 的契合]
