翻译中的思辨到底是什么？一个例子说明白

如果你问我研究生快一年的时间我到底学到了什么？撇开口译不说，笔译我学到了动脑。我们的笔译老师经常ma我们不用脑子，不思考，学不会思辨。我也和批改班的学弟学妹们经常聊到翻译不是字字对应，而是要不断发问，不断思考的。
但概念光说很抽象，最近在准备暑期笔译批改班新材料时，遇到了一个小例子。和大家分享，大家可以感受下什么是思辨。

1. a lot

翻译材料中有这么一句话，“I use the word iteration a lot. ”

a lot这个表达从小学就开始见，那么简单又那么不起眼。

相信大家看到a lot的第一反应就是“很多”。

此前我也是，但经过长期训练，我产生了一个疑问，究竟多少算很多？多少是a lot？

虽然此处a lot和频率有关，但没有数量那么直观，我选择搜数量，然后类比频率。

于是我就开始到Google查证，首先我是搜图，因为图片能给我带来直观的视觉判断。随后考虑到a lot既可以修饰可数名词，又可以修饰不可数名词。那就意味着要搜两次图。

我先搜索可数的，于是我搜a lot of apples，看看“很多🍎”是多少？

我得到的结果如下：

一眼看过去，我初步得出结论：对于可数的事物，一眼望去数不过来可以算很多。

但这只是针对可数事物，如果是不可数呢？多少算a lot？接着我用, a lot of money 做关键词，检索结果如下：

我发现，钱的多少很难下定义。对于极其贫困的人来说，可能一块钱都算a lot。对于大佬来说，100万眼都不带眨的。

我初步得出结论：可能没有确定的规则，因人而异。

是否正确还需要进一步核查。

2. 求证

懒人有懒办法，虽然ChatGPT不总是那么helpful。但是英语词语解释这方面，它几乎没垮过。

于是，我就开始提问，How much or how many can be defined as “a lot”? 以下是它的回答：
