首先惯例找谓语动词：

say:讲述 use:使用

have:有

一共有三个谓语动词，看谁是句子真正的谓语动词，看落单的那个就是。

主谓宾。

I believe that he is a good student

I think

主句是：critice say that

宾语从句：big companies use deals to buy their most threatening potential competitors

时间状语从句：before their businesses have a chance to gain momentum（发展空间）

as：作为

先买再杀的目的。“捧杀”

意思：大公司会提前将对手一些有发展前景的公司先收购，让其关门。这是一种商业手段：捧杀。
