Write an essay of 160-200 words based on the following pictures. In your essay, you should

1) Describe the pictures briefly,

2) Interpret the meaning, and

3) Give your comments.

You should write neatly on the ANSWER SHEET.(20 points)

As is vividly depicted in the figure, two men are climbing a mountain with one of them putting his bag on the road and saying”I’m so tired that I decide to stop climbing.” What makes me impressed is that the other man hands him a bottle of water and says “Come on! Have a break and then keep on climbing.”

The picture intends to emphasize the importance of persistence to us. First and foremost, there is no doubt in saying that persistence can, directly or indirectly, play an indispensable role in our personal growth. What’s more, without the quality of being persistent, we would never make any remarkable progress in our life. Some people,especially young people, rather miss the point, putting all their energy and passion into trying new things rather than persisting in what they are doing. Take Jack Ma as a typical example. Without the quality of being persistent, he would not have achieve such a great success after so many times of  failure. It is the quality of being persistent that has let to his success.

From what has been analyzed above, we can easily come to conclusion that never giving up is the single best thing we can do if we want to achieve something great, which is the key to our success in life.
