the fixed new arrivals: At Chantal Hagel we have the legitimate hope that she will help us from day one. She has all the qualities to be able to win a place in the first eleven even after a short preparation phase – whether she will participate in the World Cup, we do not know. In the goalkeeper position, Anneke Borbe from Bremen and Lisa Schmitz from Montpellier are very well positioned. For me, this was the biggest construction site in recent months, given the fact that three goalkeepers are leaving us. With our goals, it is extremely important that we have two goalkeepers behind number one who have Bundesliga experience, ideally also international experience. In Kiara Beck we also have a promising talent in our own club. Kiara was already in the winter training camp and we are currently talking about bringing her into the squad for Julia Kassen.
the rumours surrounding Pernille Harder and Magdalena Eriksson: For us, a commitment has never been an issue, because this package is simply not economically feasible for us. And even if we had dared something crazy, I would have had great reservations about turning the salary structure of the entire squad upside down with two players. You can imagine that other top players will also want to push into these spheres. For the league it would be great if they were to go to FC Bayern Munich, about which I have no information. It would also be a clear statement from Bavaria after they brought Georgia Stanway from England last year and extended the contracts with Lina Magull and Lea Schüller. These are other dimensions in the economic field.
the competitive situation at the top of the league: When Tommy Stroot started with us, the word "changing the guard" was said a dozen times. Before that, we have a shutdown phase and if around 15-players were on the road for ten days, then every day is good. We really would have liked to train with the whole team before a DFB Cup semi-final before we get on the plane.
the first planning of the summer preparation: the late World Cup with the final on the 20. August is a big challenge. Of course, we expect our international players to perform very successfully. And a week after returning from Australia, the players will also get free – that's the plan. Then we go to the training camp almost a week before the first competitive match in the DFB Cup. And when you know what such a World Cup triggers not only physically but also mentally, then it becomes absolutely clear that we will go into the new season with at least the same squad strength. Our advantage, of course, can be that the Team Stand remains largely together today, so we won't need much time to find each other.
Ralf Kellermann has hinted at a possible release clause in Jill Roord’s contract at a media conference. “It’s quiet at that moment. Therefore, I assume that we will go into the new season with her.
