今天够好了,明天再来

学习工作的策略是克服速胜心理,控制住自己每天只做一点点。在特定的时间,花不超过一小时,做同样的事情。做完那微不足道的一点点之后,心满意足地对自己说,“Good enough for today, I'll come back tomorrow.


为什么这个策略可能有效?

“花不超过一小时”,是这个策略的核心。常常发生这样的情况,被一个任务卡住,一直想把它解决,花了好几个小时,还是没有解决。情绪开始苦恼,思维变得僵硬,目光变得呆滞。这个时候,要果断地承认自己无能,果断地抽离,去做点别的事。这是最佳选择。否则,会打乱后面的事项。即便任务进展顺利,也要在花完这点时间后立刻停止,不要燃尽所有的热情,为明天的热情保留一点火种。留点遗憾,才会再来。


在“特定的时间”也是很重要的,因为这会形成节律(rhythm)。节律意味着稳定。比如,早上 6 点起床,先读 30 分钟书;晚上 10 点睡觉, 睡觉前回顾一下今天都做了些什么,天天如此。 地球绕太阳转,非常稳定,转一圈,365 天,因此,地球上生机勃勃。


“只做一点点,就已经足够好了”,是这个策略的基本假设。做的这点点会在大脑里留下印记,直到下次学习之前,都会在潜意识里面运转。所以,看上去是只在早上看了 30 分钟书,但是整个白天这 30 分中书的内容都在潜意识里面,一有需要,比较容易调用出来运用。




Good Enough For Today, Come Back Tomorrow


This strategy for learning or work is to overcome the quick-win mentality and control yourself to do only a little bit every day. At a given time, spend no more than an hour doing the same thing every day. After doing that little bit, say to yourself contentedly, "Good enough for today, I'll come back tomorrow."


Why does this strategy work?


"Spend no more than an hour" is the core of this strategy. It often happens that you get stuck with a task and then keep trying to solve it, it takes hours and it is still not solved, emotions begin to be distressed, thinking becomes stiff, eyes become dull. At this point, you must decisively admit your incompetence, decisively withdraw and do something else. This is the best option. Otherwise, it will disrupt the later arrangements. Even if the task goes well, stop as soon as you spend this little time, don't burn out all your enthusiasm, and reserve a little spark for tomorrow's enthusiasm. Leave some anticipation and come again.


It's also important to be at a "specific time" because it creates a rhythm, which means stability. For example, wake up at 6 a.m., read a book for 30 minutes, go to bed at 10 p.m., and review what you did today before you go to bed, every day. The Earth revolves around the Sun, very stable, one revolution, 365 days. Therefore, the Earth is alive.


"Just doing a little, and that's good enough" is the basic assumption of this strategy. Doing this will leave an imprint in the brain that will work subconsciously until the next study/work session. It seems that I only read the book for 30 minutes in the morning, but the content of the 30-minute reading remains subconscious in my mind throughout the day, ready to be recalled and used when needed.
