“How to Learn and make friends”（-1）

1.学习和交友：

KongQ remarked, 

"It is indeed a pleasure to acquire knowledge and, as you go on acquiring, to put into practice what you have acquired. 

-A greater pleasure still it is when friends of congenial minds come from afar to see you because of your attainments. 

-But he is truly a wise and good man who feels no discomposure even when he is not noticed of men."

2.辜鸿铭对仁义的见识

"A wise man who leaves his moral character is no longer entitled to the name of a wise man. 

A wise man never for one single moment（ in his life loses sight ）of a moral life; 

In moments of haste and hurry, as in moments of danger and peril, he always clings to it."

3.谈人和兽的区别：

There is a wise man's talk about the difference between a Man and a beast：

KongQ, once expressing admiration for a disciple, remarked, 

"There is Runyon（冉雍：Runyon）——he should be made a prince."

On another occasion, when that disciple（Geoggon仲弓） asked Confucius' opinion of a certain public character of the time. 

KongQ answered, "He is a good man; he is independent."

"Hold on，Johnny，" replied the Geoggon，

 "when a man in his private life is serious with himself, he may, in his public life, be independent in dealing with the people.…

-But to be independent with himsel in his private life as well as independent in his public life,

-is there not too much independence in that?"

"Ya，u're right."

备忘录：

王豳在《辜鸿铭文集》采撷了三段；

孔丘：KongQ，孔子，Johnny，仲尼，本文中都是孔子的意思；

每一段新加一个小标题；

原文Yung（杨）改作Runyon（冉雍）；

给仲弓起个英文名字Geoggon；

发语词改了；

评：

辜鸿铭学在西洋，仕在北洋。他认同中华文明，并甘当卫道士，至死不渝。

那么即便他血管里有1/2英格兰血统，他也是中国人。

现在有的人脸是中国人的脸，血是中国人的血，但是读过几本外国名著，吃过几天面包，就食洋不化，东施效颦；

这类假学者、真小人，不愧为狗屁不通的现代假洋鬼子。

笔者对辜先生那学贯中西的文学功夫、豪杰的胸襟胆气，十分钦佩。

辜鸿铭治学之盛，一时无两，笔者要向他学习；

对辜鸿铭的保皇立场，到了2021年的今天，我们需要警惕。

   我们时不时地就会看到当代学者对大学者朱熹冷嘲热讽，--请不必奇怪，这种事也发生在辜鸿铭身上；

学生们看见他留辫子，笑他；

张作霖见了他，一个老头，梳辫子，穿的古板，轻蔑地说：“你能干啥？”

张之洞尊敬他，信用他，青史名标。

所以，

对当代（二零零零年以后）媒体、文学作品中对辜鸿铭的挖苦讽刺，无非是吃不到葡萄的狐狸的心态，他们在妒忌他。
