雅思写作解析及高分范文丨雇主是否应该给员工至少四周的假期?

1、题目:
Employers should give their staff at least four weeks’ holiday a year as employees can be better at their work. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this view?

Some people argue that employers ought to offer their staff at least four weeks’ holiday each year so that employees can perform better at their work. As far as I am concerned, I entirely agree with this view.
First of all, working for long hours without sufficient time to unwind is not beneficial for health. Tight working schedules will add too much pressure on employees, and leave them with less time for rest and relaxation. Especially in the modern society, there are a variety of problems associated with health plaguing young people. According to a research conducted by National Health and Humanity Service Center, more than 80% of young people once got ill because of sleep deprivation.
Moreover, if those employees have at least four weeks’ holiday a year, then they can work at a regular pace, which will allow them to arrange their life in a favorable way. More specifically, it allows people to pursue their other passions outside of work. For example, these staff could enjoy the holidays by using the spare time to do something they like. They will have enough time to take trips, join different activities and cultivate their own hobbies, such as calligraphy, cycling, horseback riding and so on. This will help them balance life and work better, and make life more colorful and pleasant. Last but not least, having more time to relax can inspire people to be morecreative in the working process.
If what they do and hear about is always about their work, they will be less likely to make breakthroughs in their career path. According to what I have learned, many of the greatest scientists led colorful and fulfilling lives. For example, Richard Feynman was a Nobel laureate and one of the founders of quantum electrodynamics, an important branch of modern physics. He once admitted that his various hobbies such as playing bongo, cracking safes and painting concretely aided him in coming up with new ideas in his research. In a nutshell, a period of relaxing can be conducive to employee and business performance alike.
