A toddler is brought into the ED after ingesting a coin. Imaging reveals that the coin is in the stomach. The patient’s mother asks how long it will take for the coin to pass. What do you tell her?

Answer 答案：

Gastric coins will usually pass within 4 - 6 days. In the absence of early spontaneous passage, they typically can be observed for a period of 2 - 4 weeks, after which elective endoscopic removal is considered. 

胃中的硬币通常在4-6天内排出。如果那时还没有排出，建议使用内窥镜取出。
