Studiopepe imagined a digital space where they could show their collection of prototypes, one-of-a-kind pieces, limited editions and objects that the studio love to collect throughout its research process.“The object is a mirror; the images it reflects follow one another without contradiction. The mirror is perfect, because it reflects not true images, but those desired.” 《The System of Objects》——J. Baudrillard.

作为知识和学习的行为,收集的倾向,对特殊任务的热情,对文物和生产剩余物的热爱,是解释pepe工作室项目的关键。

The propensity for collecting, intended as the act of knowledge and study, the passion for the particularity of objets trouvés, the love for artifacts and production leftovers, are a key to interpret Studiopepe’s projects.

This imaginary space, which comes to life in the images created by Terzo Piano studio, is a poetic box in which the architectural elements, the materials and the shapes that define the space contribute to create a sophisticated and contemporary container.

High pile carpet covers the floor and walls and contrasts with the roughness of the cement plaster of the other vertical services.Another contrast is created between the essential clean lines of the stainless steel shelves and the soft organic contours of the wall niches, which are inspired by the work of Scheggi.

The space is much like a contemporary cabinet-of-wonders where sculptural objects, works of art and furnishings sit together to create unexpected new interactions.

“The collection is a triumph of the passionate tension towards possession, whereby the daily prose of objects becomes poetry, an unconscious and triumphant discourse”, affirms Baudrillard.This collection is far from the logic of consumerism. It is a moving and emotional collection driven by Studiopepe’s passion for materials and for the sculptural value of the collected elements.
