第六章 有生命的词汇
这一章的目的在于引导学习者在阅读英语原著时去欣赏英语的美,不断积累那些
具有很强表现力的词汇,这样有助于了解英语思维模式。
1. Those of you who're tempted by consent, do you think consent would make a
moral difference.
你们当中那些倾向于“同意”的,是否认为有了“同意”会在道义上有所不同呢?
2. She tiptoed into the room. 她踮着脚走进房间。
在汉语里,脚尖是不用做动词的。因此通过英汉对比学习,可以更深刻的理解
这个词的用法,同时增进了解英语思维模式。
3. Somewhere near midnight, the sun slowly and lazily angled its way down toward
the horizon, nonchalantly traveled a brief distance across it, then rose upward again
toward a new day.
大约接近午夜时,太阳慢慢地、懒洋洋地调整角度,朝地平线滑落下去,若无

4. Aquatic plants bearded the pond’s shoreline, and the emergent weeds pierced
the surface in the shallows.

traveler.
出租车司机一看到游客,便招呼着说“Hi! Hi!”,其车门也砰地一声打开了。
20. The din of the stall-holders crying their wares, of donkey-boys and porters
clearing a way for themselves by shouting vigorously, and of would-be purchasers
arguing and bargaining is continuous and makes you dizzy.
