past. the donghua (for the most part) follows the novel's format which constantly switches back and forth between the past and the present (although the donghua orders the past events chronologically, the novel doesn't). episode 2 ended with a flashback. the flashback continues until episode 15 where it switches back to the present timeline~

Oh yeah, the first two episodes are in the present but after that and continuing on until episode 15 is in the past which is why people call WWX...well WWX! Then in season two which is from episode 16 to 23, they switch. I hope this helps!(sorry if it’s a bit late)
