        福娃（Friendlies），是2008年北京奥运会的吉祥物，设计者是清华大学美术学院教授韩美林老师，于2005年11月11日、距离第29届奥运会开幕恰好1000天时正式发布问世。“福娃”是五个拟人化的娃娃，他们的原型和头饰蕴含着与海洋、森林、火、大地和天空的联系，应用了中国传统艺术的表现方式，展现了灿烂的中国文化的博大精深。五个福娃分别叫“贝贝”、“晶晶”、“欢欢”、“迎迎”、“妮妮”，各取它们名字中的一个字有次序的组成了谐音“北京欢迎你”。北京奥运会吉祥物的每个娃娃都代表着一个美好的祝愿：贝贝象征繁荣、晶晶象征欢乐、欢欢象征激情、迎迎象征健康、妮妮象征好运。娃娃们带着北京的盛情，将祝福带往世界各个角落，邀请各国人民共聚北京，欢庆中国北京的2008奥运盛典。

        Friendlies, designed by Professor Han Meilin of the Art Institute of Tsinghua University, is the mascot for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Friendlies made its premiere on November, 11, 2005, the day exactly 1,000 days before the opening of the 29th Summer Olympic Games. These are five personified dolls whose headgear are inspired by ocean, forest, fire, earth and sky, also whose headgear connote. Friendlies exhibit the brilliant, profound and extensive Chinese culture through traditional art patterns. The dolls of Friendlies are respectively named "Beibei" "Jingjing" "Huanhuan" "Yingying" and "Nini." One character taken from their names in order, and they become the homophonic "Bei Jing Huan Ying Ni." (English translated as: "Welcome to Beijing.") Each doll of Friendlies carries a good wish: Beibei for prosperity, Jingjing for joy, Huanhuan for passion, Yingying for health and Nini for good luck. Friendlies carry the great passion of the Beijing Olympics and their invitation to people all around the world to Beijing to celebrate the grand 2008 Olympic Games together in Beijing, China.
