PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

We are hiring a Director in the China Operations Change-the-Bank team (CTB) with 6+ years of working experience based out of Shanghai. CTB is a project management and business analysis function responsible for driving and delivering changes as driven by business, regulatory and market requirements. The role will work on projects related to the Firm?s businesses in China, including and not limited to futures brokerage, securities company, bank and funds management. The team works and partners closely with Business Units, Operations and Technology teams to develop and implement systematic and functional solutions.


Primary Responsibilities:

Understand project requirements and propose project objectives, benefits & scope

Develop project plan & implementation strategy along with key stakeholders

Adopt and follow the Agile implementation model, work with Product Owners and squads to define product vision, road-map, growth opportunities

Write user stories and document change requirements

Set, prioritize and evaluate work that requires development

Provide backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration of the user stories

Track & report progress updates, milestones & issues

Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals

Keep abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends


QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements:

6+ years in project management, change management, new product / service delivery, consulting for or directly with financial institutions in operations and/or technology

Understanding of financial products, regulatory requirements and operations functions of those being offered in China

Demonstrated success in delivering process improvement and innovation in an onboarding or regulatory compliance context

Experience in Agile delivery model is preferred Desired Competencies

Quick self-starter, proactive attitude with ability to work in a fast changing environment and with international locations

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

Detailed orientated, strong organizational skills

Strong verbal and written communications skills with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms and to report to management

Morgan Stanley intends to set up the Futures Brokerage business with location in Beijing. The entity will apply to trade in commodity and financial futures products as listed in the China exchanges. The entity will consist of an Operations team to deliver efficient operational process and technology-based solutions compliant with local regulations and in support of business as well as client needs.


Finance

The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and has over 3,000 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firm?s books and records, and by contributing to firm wide risk management and risk reduction. This division maintains relationships with Morgan Stanley?s various industry and government regulators, and also serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community. Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanley?s various businesses and its senior management team.


Primary Responsibilities

The Finance Controller of the Futures Company (?the Company?) reports to the Finance Head/CFO of the Company

he role is responsible for preparing financial accounting & reporting, regulatory reporting, group financial report consolidation and other daily work assigned by the Finance Head/CFO.

Ensures compliance of the applicable Accounting Standards and regulatory rules and regulations as well as Morgan Stanley?s internal policies and requirements.

Closely manage tax related matters and ensure tax filings are prepared accurately and on a timely basis.

Build up partnership with Business Unit and provide financial analysis, advice to the Business Unit and Senior Management on the Company?s profitability, booking, business and products.

Support the Finance Head/CFO on financial budgeting, planning & forecasting and project based tasks when needed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Certification of Futures Practitioner from China Futures Association

Relevant experience relating to financial accounting, reporting, tax in multi-national financial institution, with at least 1 year in a managerial role of a professional team

Bachelor?s degree in relevant field such as business administration, finance, or accounting ;

Has sufficient knowledge about relevant law and regulatory requirements with regard to FX, tax , and futures business in PRC;

Proven ability to independently handle financial, regulatory and tax matters with local authorities

Good professional ethics, could timely identify and report the issue or potential risks from the compliance and risk management status of the Company?s daily operations;

A proactive, self-motivated and dynamic person

Fluent in Chinese Mandarin and English with solid written and verbal communication skills;

Familiarity with USGAAP / IFRS accounting treatments and relevant financial report consolidation experiences would be preferred.
