1️⃣表感到害怕

afraid / scared / frightened / terrified

当看到那只凶恶（ferocious）的狼时，我感到很害怕。

When I saw the ferocious wolf, l felt very scared.

At the sight of the ferocious wolf, I felt very scared.

①l froze with terror, too scared to move an inch.

②l felt so scared that my throat tightened and my knees felt weak.

③He stiffened. The smile faded from his lips，and his face turned pale. His hands trembled.

As soas she heard the bad news, she felt very sad.

Upon hearing the bad news, she felt extremely sad.

She, numb with grief , had trouble speaking and chocked with tears.

She buried / hid her face in her hands and cried.

她感到非常羞愧。

She felt so ashamed that she could feel her face burning（feel the blood rush to her face）.

So ashamed did she feel that she was close to tears.

He felt very angry.

He felt so angry that he rushed out of the room, slamming the door furiously behind him.

Boiling with rage, he shook his fist at me.

He was in such a rage that her face had taken on a boiled color.

He stamped his foot in anger.

Filled with anger/fury, he was unable to utter a single word, arms folded.

佩奇感到很绝望。

Page felt desperate.

Page fell into despair.

Page was suddenly thrown into a world of darkness and sank into hopelessness.

Page felt left out and was getting desperate with loneliness.

When the host announced that she won the prize, she felt thrilled.

Her eyes twinkled with excitement.

Her heart was thumping with excitement.

When his mother kissed him on the cheek, the baby was happy / delighted / full of joy.

His eyes danced with joy and sweetness.

His face beamed and his bright smile lit up the room.

It seemed as if the baby were on top of the world.

The grief come in waves.

She was overwhelmed by feelings of guilt.

A ripple of sadness welled up inside him.

Her rage swept through her like a tidal wave.

She felt/was seized by a burst of sadness and couldn't help crying bitterly.

【小试牛刀】

①One day, Spotty returned from his daily walk with a broken leg. He appeared very exhausted. He came to my room and sat near me. It was then that I saw his behind leg was injured and was bleeding. I was sad and cried my mother for help, tears streaming down my cheeks.

Luckily, two days later, Spotty was up to his usual tricks though he limped(一瘸一拐) a bit. I really admired him for his courage.

 

②I was nine years old. It was a cold dark night. We had our meal and went to sleep. Somehow in the midnight I heard some strange sounds outside the main door. I felt so scared that my legs felt weak. I gathered courage and looked out through the window and I found Spotty, a small puppy.

④听到警察的声音，小偷吓得不敢动。

Upon hearing the police's voice, the thief was frozen with fear / was too frightened to move.
