The honeysuckle is named for its heavenly sweet perfume. Also known as woodbine, this flowering vine’s tenacity and clinging nature give it the symbolic meaning of “devoted affection”. In the Language of Flowers, many plants have both a positive and a negative meaning. However, the honeysuckle’s associations are all positive: sweetness, happiness, bonds of love, resilience and affection. Once established, the honeysuckle can be relied upon to remain a constant fixture in the garden.
