失败量产车系列35——凯迪拉克Cimarron

上个世纪70年代,通用汽车在规划80年代的产品计划时,关于凯迪拉克的那部分就是打算开发一款比新一代Seville低一档的轿车,以此来加强对奔驰和宝马的竞争力。

于是在1981年,也就是在在第二代Seville问世的第二年,凯迪拉克就推出了基于GM J平台打造而来的Cimarron。

与顶级的Seville不同,Cimarron的外观造型相对传统了很多,没有Seville优雅线条,只有普通的三厢轿车结构。

1985年,Cimarron推出了改款车型,其中的变化在于车头大灯灯有所改动,进气格栅的样式有所改变。

Cimarron的中控台搭配的是银色饰板,同时堆上各种各样的豪华车配置,再搭配三幅式方向盘,看起来满满的豪华感。

Cimarron的车舱采用皮革材质包裹,同时又若干种皮革配色可供选择。

结束了对皮革配色的选择之后,你就可以得到属于自己的凯迪拉克豪华车了。

L46型1.8升直列四缸发动机

Cimarron规划出来的时候,留的车辆开发时间并不长,这让凯迪拉克的应战得十分仓促,直接导致准备不足,所以Cimarron面对奔驰190E和宝马3系的时候一败涂地。

在文章的开头就提到,Cimarron是基于通用集团的GM J平台开发的,同平台的车型有四款,其中Cimarron跟雪佛兰Cavalier的零件共享率最高,相当于豪华精装版的Cavalier,而且价格还是Cavalier的两倍之多,而且hi质量也没好到哪里去。用现在的车型来比喻,相当于通用集团想要挑战C级和3系,就匆匆拉着雪佛兰迈锐宝的平台开发出了凯迪拉克CT4,两台车共用的部件还不少,而且CT4的价格还是迈锐宝的两倍之多,你看消费者会买凯迪拉克的账吗?

所以Cimarron的评价就不太好了:

Cimarron被《时代》杂志列入“有史以来最糟糕的50辆汽车”名单之中。

在Autoblog中,Cimarron在“有史以来 20 辆最愚蠢的汽车”名单中排名第四。

1988年,随着Cimarron在加拿大市场停售,美国的凯迪拉克工厂也正式停止了它的生产。
