 30 Lesson 5 - Photobashing Basics Part 6 - Environment Demo PT2

P30 - 00:04继续环境场景设计。 

 All right, guys. No intro. we’ll go straight to it. Oh. You can see that I'm doing this very stereotypical cut, paste, cut, paste, lasso tool in, lasso tool out, just stitching out images in the left and right. Just your typical stitching images. 

P30 - 00:56刻板的套索剪切拼接。 

You can see here that i've got a fence. And this one definitely took a little bit of a while to lasso tool.

And I didn't even completely finished pulling it out, because all of those little fences have those holes in between them. But i'll get to that at the very end.

So essentially, I'm doing a rough stage now placing things where they are, where they need to be. at the very end, when my photos are pretty much together in a location that I want, I will go infor a final time and clean up every little spot.

Oh. You'll notice that I had bashed into completely different mountains, because I tried one mountain didn't work. And then I went for a second mountain.

Again with collage, you need to try things. If you don't get it right the first time, that's OK. Just try something else. This is definitely not a competition to see if you get it right the first shot. you have to do trial and error.   

P30 - 02:03不断试错最后成功。 

In fact, if it makes you feel any better, I was trying to photo bashed out some of the trees. So you can see me going here going into the trees. And I somehow photo bashed in the exact same tree without realizing that I did So, which means I did all of the work of lasso tolling out this second tree. That turns out i've already done the entire work for originally I was like, WOW, when I when I realized I made this mistake, I was like, WOW, good job, Airi, go to start, a for effort. 

P30 - 03:07处理完发现同一树我竟处理两遍。 

Now here's the really fun part. Bashing in human beings and animals. Typically you're not going to be able to find the exact human being or animal or clothing that you want. So if I wanted a little girl, little red riding hood specifically on a small mule or donkey, then it's gonna be pretty hard to find a photo like that. So instead what I have to do is I have to get my donkey from a different source, my little red from another source and to make sure that her pose is accurate. I have to go with my lasso tool and actually adjust her as well as her clothing.

And as you know, we can use the handy dandy transform warp tool to be able to do just that. I'm not even satisfied with her hood. And even that I can change by taking out another person's red hood and putting it onto my own little red.

Now I get my very own unique little red riding hood on a small donkey traversing the icy lake. To go to our grandma's house.

This is starting to look like. I would say pretty good. Now i've got to go in and finish cleaning up all of my details. 

P30 - 05:03全局有了，开始善后细节。 

Finally, I'm back to the fence, my greatest enemy going through all of those tiny, tiny, little fence holes to clean it up. Not the most glamorous part, but very important. If your pieces isn’t pristine, if your photo flash pieces isn't clean, people will be taken out of the photo and their quote, quote, immersion will be ruined.  

P30 - 06:19最后处理篱笆细节，决定成败。 

if you really think about it, everything that we've used so far is literally just lasso tool, copy paste, some transform tools, and a little bit of color balance here and there. But it's basically just colliding with digital images.

This is actually a really fun process. I was having a lot of fun while doing this. I'm really excited because you're gonna be able to do this really soon too.

Now that everything is cleaned up. Picture perfect and get to go. This is where I want to be. This is a perfect base for anything that I want to put on Top.

If I want to change anything in the future, I am easily able to. I just realized that my house is a little bit smaller. So I'm just gonna make it ever so slightly bigger. There we are. All right.

So let me quickly talk to you about a few things that I was thinking about when I was making this piece. 

P30 - 07:41谈一谈做作品时候想到的几点。 

The first thing is I want to have a focus on my piece and my focus I placed it right on the 1/3 line section which is my little red. 

P30 - 07:49小红帽在右侧三分处。 

And everything should kind of lead to little red. You see how these rocks? I specifically placed her in a position where these rocks call of duty and they run right to her. 

P30 - 08:02红帽背后的山石可以滚向她。 

And then I also specifically chose a river bank. You see that I switched banks here like constantly. And I kept on trying to find where I worked. And I liked this one particular. Because it has this nice snowy shape to it, so that it goes to the house. And because the house is here. So we have a point of interest, 

P30 - 08:21河岸走势提示小红帽行进路线。 

then it all leads our eye back to little red, 

P30 - 08:25一切走向趋势指向小红帽。 

because we've got these mountains, they flow here, they go to the rocks that go down here. We have this little fence that goes all the way down to little red and these rocks to their direction kind of all flow towards our main character that way.  

P30 - 08:40房前篱笆趋势迎接小红帽。 

that way our eye goes here first. So number one, and then it will follow all of these lines to the house. And then eventually they can look at the rest of the piece. 

P30 - 08:53人看醒目小红帽，房子再指向她。 

But I want to make sure that the eye is focused more towards the center of the piece, not going towards here, not going towards here, not going towards here and not going towards there, too often Do I see a lot of people put their horse or character all the way over here.  

P30 - 09:10最容易犯错的不按照三分来乱放。 

Why do you want my eyes to. All the way over here, I have to stretch all the way over. It makes a lot more sense usually, not saying that you can't break the rules. It usually makes a lot more sense to place your character much more inside the center of your frame. Also, you'll notice that if we have a break, my composition is roughly in the area of 2080. So because my eye go to the bigger portion, i've placed my little red in the 80 portion as well. 

P30 - 09:38天际二八分，角色在八分的大比例内。 

Those are my thoughts that were going on in my head on an overarching scale as I was working on this piece. 

P30 - 09:44这领域大道至简的原则。 

This piece is far from done. But if I try to explain to you right now how to do the rest of your piece, your brain might explode. I know that my brain would probably explode. Take things easy step by step by step. It takes a lot of work just to get to this part where you put all the images and stitch them together.

Now, now, before we take it to a finish, let's just let our brain digest everything that's happened. And then move forward with a fresh pair of eyes ready to soak in more knowledge.

32 Lesson 5 - Photobashing Basics Part 8 - Practice & Improvement P32 - 00:02训练提升指导。 

 So you just saw a lot, but now it's time to make your own. You saw me create two different types of pieces. So I would also like to ask for two different types of pieces from you. 

P32 - 00:14白看不如一做。 

The first is we're gonna call it the fun bash. All right? Because I mean, hey, come on. It was super fun to do, right？ 

P32 - 00:21不同照片元素拼图起来乐在其中。 

for this fun bash. But is it a bird in the hat and the pancakes, I want you to do as well and give it a shot. You don't need to do exactly what I did. But the entire point of this exercise is so that you can practice the method and be able to get familiar with all the different tools that photo bash utilizes. 

P32 - 00:40训练目标是熟悉拼图用的技能。 

So how to take out photos, using lasso tool, using transform, using clipping masks, layers, using multiply, overlay, color dodge, all of those things, doing lighting layers. 

P32 - 00:57比如剪切蒙版套索增量减淡技能。 

this time, unlike the previous demos because photos bashing is a very process heavy technique. I would like you to be very careful and try to get the process as accurate as possible. 

P32 - 01:09让过程尽可能精确到位。 

previously, my homework has always been as long as you get to the finish. It doesn't matter. For this one, I would like you to be more sensitive about the specific process. Because once you're able to get this process down, then you can build on Top of it and be able to discover processes of your very own. 

P32 - 01:28了解过程才可以推陈出新。 

Until then, however, especially if you're new to photo bashing, definitely try to stick to this method one for one. Just for now, I want you to have at least one distinct sky and then use at least over six photos.  

P32 - 01:42比如六张照片训练天空拼凑。 

So you can see here, my sky is one photo. My hat is one photo. My bird is one photo. My bid is one photo. My other bird is another photo. My pancakes are a photo and my table is a photo. Therefore I have around seven photos. It's very easy to get to six photos. Seven is completely achievable. And I welcome you to go more.  

P32 - 02:06比如图6拼凑元素来自6个照片。 

And of course, I want you to take it to a finish, so that these photos would put together look harmonious.  

P32 - 02:15不同来源的元素拼凑一起显和谐。 

Now the second part of your assignment is to go back to the prompt of little red riding hood versus Cinderella. I know, I know. I know. Don't worry, I promise. I'll move away from these prompts very soon. But until then, because you've been kind of working in the same vein with these two stories and their familiar, try to stay within these two concepts. The reason is because it encourages you to do something that would probably have a lot of photographs available. 

P32 - 02:43带着问题收集素材有方向的。 

If I asked you to do a prompt of, oh, I don't know. A frog mansion with Lily pads and a golden staircase with, I don't know, like seven seals and swans. And I wanna swap fountain, Well, regardless, my point is that that's going to be too difficult to find photos for. 

P32 - 03:05陌生素材找照片反而困难。 

Whereas finding a photo for a house in the forest or Cinderella‘s castle or Cinderella's house or a small village town, a ballroom, those things are very easy to find photographs for. I still want you to be able to have creative freedom to be able to interpret it however you choose. But do be aware that now your prompt is going to get harder. If you choose a setting that is already very difficult and rare to find photographs for, so don't be afraid to go simple first.  

P32 - 03:37从熟悉的简单的开始训练技术。 

When you begin this assignment, I want you to turn in a sketch. And it's completely okay if your sketch is completely incoherent, because mine is definitely incoherent. 

P32 - 03:50思维放在草图里，不连贯没关系。 

But the reason why I want you to do a sketch is because I want you to point out specifically what items you need. For example, I pointed out that I need the mountain. I need a house. I need a mule. I need a lake. I need some rocks. Some snowy rocks. I need some snow. Obviously, I also need my red and a few trees and any other items that might be in the distance. This will encourage you to be able to have a plan so that when you go to look for your photos, you know specifically what you're looking for. 

P32 - 04:22构思图是你寻找照片的清单。 

And you don't waste too much time. Cause trust me, the photo finding process will be a lot longer than you think. Afterwards. Of course, i'd like to see your finished stitch. This is a final, this is just a stitch. A stitch would mean that everything is under a neutral lighting, things are all put together. 

P32 - 04:43拼图和谐共处同时中性光。 

So we can kind of see what the scene is. But obviously there's still no color and no light, or at least there's not like a strong color where you can tell specifically what kind of day it is. 

P32 - 04:52没有明确的光代表一天什么时辰。 

There's not much of a light direction because it is neutral lighting. And if those few details are missing. That's completely OK, too. But I do want it to be very coherent. And I also want it to be clean. I don't want to see little fuzzy edges of different photographs taken out from each other. I want it to feel pristine, 

P32 - 05:15要看到整洁流畅。 

especially for beginners. I don't want you to immediately try to bash the most difficult thing ever. Start simple. It's completely okay. If you need to just do like a simple lake in a mountain in a small hut. And that's it. That's okay. Get used to the process. That's the entire point of this episode.  

P32 - 05:35简单的构图熟悉技能。 

Because for many, this might be a completely new technique. And with techniques, we need time to take them in. Previously on all the other lessons, we've been discussing concepts, like the idea of color, the idea of composition, but this time is very technique focused. 

P32 - 05:51过去概念课程，现在是技能训练。 

So I want you to take some time to polish it well, therefore, we're only going to deliver a stitch, not Yeah a final piece. So ultimately your deliverable should be? 

P32 - 06:02缝补的拼图合格要求？ 

number one. I want you to give me a fun bash. If you want to do more, totally do it. It's awesome. Anything you can do to feel like you've got the process down. 

P32 - 06:13尽可能多的训练熟悉工作流程。 

Next. I want you to deliver me a sketch and point out specifically what items you will need to find photos for in this sketch. Have a plan, 

P32 - 06:20构思图是寻找素材的清单图。 

then give me the finished photo stitch, so for this section, there will be specifically two pieces and deliverable. Ultimately that should be three plus deliverables. If you do multiple fun batches. Hell yeah, give me more. If you are comfortable with photo bashing already and you're comfortable with photo manipulation, 

P32 - 06:41如果你熟悉上面的训练，再挑战。 

then Challenge yourself and give me multiple photos stitches and try to be creative and push things like camera angle or a very rare kind of setting. 

P32 - 06:50比如摄像角度。 

But this is for those who are already advanced and photo manipulation techniques. If you aren't, I would say, if you want challenge yourself. Try multiple find bashes. The more you do the process over it over, the more successful you will be when you actually get to your final photo stitch. And of course your final final the finished piece. 

P32 - 07:12越是训练的多，越是轻松驾驭。 

it is super exciting. We're getting to some really cool stuff with the concept art. just a few modules ago, we were still only talking about black and white. And now we're here doing crazy things like birds and Top hats and little red riding hood crossing an icy lake and snow. And it's photo realistic and hyper rendered. 

P32 - 07:35从黑白图到真实图，就是进步。 

That's a pretty big leap. So be proud of yourself for making it all the way here and continue forward because you've got this. Can't wait to see what you come up with.
