SMAS results from compression of the third portion of the duodenum between the SMA and abdominal aorta due to narrowing of the space between these two structures, primarily due to loss of the intervening mesenteric fat pad。
SMAS是由于肠系膜上动脉和腹主动脉间隙狭窄对这两个结构之间的第三段十二指肠造成压迫。（此间隙狭窄）主要原因是缺乏肠系膜脂肪垫。
