双语读书摘抄（三）《麦田里的守望者》

1.一个小孩不肯让人看他的金鱼，因为那金鱼是他自己花钱买的。

In the first place,it was one of those places that are very terrible to be in unless you have somebody good to dance with,or unless the waiter lets you buy real drinks instead of just Cokes.There isn't any night club in the world you can sit in for a long time unless you can at least buy some liquor and get drunk.Or unless you're with some girl that really knocks you out.

I stayed in the bathroom for about one hour,taking bath  and all. ThenI got back in bed. It took me quite a while to get to sleep-I wasn't even tired- -but finally I did. What I really felt like, though,was committing suicide. I felt like jumping out the window.I probably would've done it, too, if I'd been sure somebody'd cover me up as soonas I landed. I didn't want a bunch of stupid rubbernecks looking at mewhen I was all gory.

 I hope to hell when I do die somebody has sense enough to just dump me in the river or something. Anything except sticking me in a goddam cemetery. People coming and putting a bunch of flowers on your stomach on Sunday, and all that crap. Who wants flowers when you're dead? Nobody.

10.“律师还行，我想是吧——可是我也没兴趣。”我说，“我是说如果律师一天到晚到处去搭救无辜人们的性命什么的，那样倒还不算坏，可是真当了律师，你就不会去做那些事了。整天所做的，就是挣很多很多钞票，打打高尔夫球还有桥牌，买名车，喝马提尼酒，让自己的样子像是个有头有面的人物。况且，就算你真的到处去搭救别人的性命，你怎么知道那是因为你真的想那样做呢，还是之所以那样做，是因为你真正的想法是当个很厉害的律师，在他妈案子审完后，让那些记者什么的拍着你的背，当庭向你表示祝贺，就像那些破电影里演的?你怎么知道你不是个装模作样的家伙?问题就在这儿，你不会知道。”

Lawyers are all right,I guess—but it doesn't appeal to me,"I said."I mean they're all right if they go around saving innocent guys' lives all the time,and like that,but you don't do that kind of stuff if you're a lawyer.All you do is make a lot of dough and play golf and play bridge and buy cars and drink Martinis and look like a hot-shot.And besides.Even if you did go around saving guys' lives and all,how would you know if you did it because you really wanted to save guys' lives,or because you did it because what you really wanted to do was be a terrific lawyer,with everybody slapping you on the back and congratulating you in count when the goddam trial was over,the reporters and everybody,the way it is in the dirty movies?How would you know you weren't being a phony?The trouble is,you wouldn't."

“Anyway,I keep picturing all these little kids playing some game in this big field of rye and all.Thousands of little kids,and nobody's around—nobody big,I mean—except me.And I'm standing on the edge of some crazy cliff.What I have to do,I have to catch everybody if they start to go over the cliff—I mean if they're running and they don't look where they're going I have to come out from somewhere and catch them.That's all I'd do all day.I'd just be the catcher in the rye and all.I know it's crazy,but that's the only thing I'd really like to be.I know it's crazy."

Don’t ever tell anybody anything.If you do ,you start missing everybody.
