The buffalo fought back against the lion
"Mr. Zhou, you could never do such thing!"
Professor Wei, the company's senior legal adviser, shook his head and tried to stop Zhou Xinghe from sending the document.
"Professor Wei, I have accepted your kindness. But I've been thinking about it for months and I'm determined!" Zhou Xinghe said resolutely, "If I don't vent my anger and keep it in my heart, I will get sick. If I'm going to get sick, why don't they get sick too!"
"I am firmly opposed to your doing so." Professor Wei still stood by his view.
"I know you'll object, but it's the last straw." Zhou Xinghe said obstinately, "I’ll go all out; even if they want to catch, lock or kill me, I can't care so much anymore. Anyway, I have already died two or three times!"
"Mr. Zhou, to be honest, I had a good impression of you." Professor Wei paused and then said, "With all due respect, you're acting like a village shrew about this."
"Professor Wei, you are really right. A shrew can only be treated in the way of shrew!" Zhou Xinghe replied, "You have done your duty. I dare to act and dare to bear resposnbility. What I'm determined to do, nothing could pull me back!"
"Whatever you say, I am negligent in my job as your legal adviser to see you walk to the edge of the cliff and not pull you back." Professor Wei was a serious person, and he would not easily give up his ideas on matters of principle.
"Thank you, Professor Wei. I understand your mood, but do you understand mine?" Seeing Professor Wei was a little worried, Zhou Xinghe calmed down, thought for a while and said to him, "In this way, I will tell you a story, and then you can understand why I am doing this now."
Professor Wei looked at Zhou Xinghe with some doubts.
Zhou told Wei a story from Nature Legend, a science and education channel on TV: on the Zambian savannah in Africa, a group of fierce lions chased a herd of buffalo, who fled in all directions for their lives. At the critical juncture, a medium-sized buffalo, was chased by the lion and pounced upon, which wanted to regard it as a good meal. The buffalo struggled hard and fled to the river. Not knowing that, a crocodile, dormant by the river, pounced upon and held the buffalo by the hind leg. The lion followed and took hold of the buffalo’s anterior palate, pulling towards the bank, while the other into the water.
While the crocodile and the lion were fighting desperately for the dying buffalo, a shocking scene took place! In the distance, with a shrill cry, a strong buffalo rushed forward bravely, risked his life and death, picked up the lion with his horns, and threw him violently into the river! Seeing this, the crocodile quickly released its jaws and fled. A dozen other lions, stunned by the rageful buffalo's unusual behavior, and fled in all directions! After saving his wounded son, the wild buffalo kept licking his son's bloody wound with love and pity. Zhou Xinghe could not help shedding tears at the sight.
"A buffalo, to protect his son, would be so desperate to fight the ferocious lion and crocodile." After Zhou Xinghe finished his story, he said to Professor Wei with some emotions, "The invention patent that I have worked so hard to obtain for so many years, in my eyes, is my son too! The lion and the crocodile are about to devour it. Am I worse than the buffalo to save my son?"
"Well." Professor Wei just gave a long sigh when he heard this.
Balky Zhou Xinghe, no doubt was a furious buffalo by this time, rushed to the river with his horns to contend with the lion and crocodile for his son, and there was really no strength to pull him back! The next day, he printed thousands of copies of the written material, and without hesitation, publicly sent them to local authorities, relevant leaders, court discipline inspection commission, court leaders, and the parties concerned.
Before this material was sent through the post office, Zhou Xinghe was fully prepared to be detained or arrested by the judicial authorities. He gave some explanations and instructions to his family and friends, especially his son. After sending out thousands of documents, he went nowhere, arriving at the company office on time every day to wait for someone from the court or public security bureau to summon him or arrest him.
"Xinghe, you are too bold?!" Hearing this, his kind-hearted friends were worried about him and called or came to the company to care about him. "You know, if they want to frame you such a common people, it’s just like pinching an ant!"
"This is a world under the Communist Party's rule, and I believe the Party's will and determination to fight the corruption and build a clean government." Zhou Xinghe even explained, "I don't believe that a local court can blind the whole Communist Party!
"Combating the corruption and building a clean government is the matter of the Communist Party's Discipline Inspection Commission and government supervision department. Why should you stand out?" His friends out of their kindness tried to persuade him.
"I don't believe the Communist regime can tolerate the corruption, even in feudal society and during the Kuomintang period, the corruption was hated by all men." Zhou Xinghe became stubborn, just like a stone, "It was because everyone pretended to be deaf and dumb, and no one was willing to take the lead, that those corruptionists became more and more reckless."
"Xinghe, you still have to be careful!"
"I am an honest man who does not do anything underhand. What I do is public. My name 'Zhou Xinghe' is written on the documents. If they would only deal with me openly, I shall be content with their gentlemanly manner."
"I'm afraid they may not act in your way! Xinghe, have you ever thought that you are a person fighting alone, while there is a big net! ..."
It was strange that after Zhou Xinghe's documents had been sent, he sat there every day waiting for the men in uniform and with handcuffs to arrest him, but two months had passed and no one had even summoned him - could this event have been come to nothing?
The outcome was somewhat unexpected - but it only illustrated one point: the people perverting the law in the court was the minority, and most of the leaders and judges had the sense of justice and high legal standard.
