Protocol

1. 一种规范或标准，用来指导或约束某些行为、活动或程序的执行。例如：

   The protocol for treating the infection was very strict.

   治疗感染的规范非常严格。

2. 一种正式的外交礼仪或礼节，用来保证国际交往中的和谐与尊重。例如：

   The president followed the protocol when he visited the foreign country.

   总统在访问外国时遵守了外交礼仪。

Protocol这个词的词源是从希腊语prōtókollon（卷轴上第一张纸，上面写着目录）演变而来的。Prōtókollon是由prōtos（第一）和kólla（胶水）组成的复合词。

• prologue: 开场白，序言。例如：The prologue of the play was very intriguing. 这部戏剧的开场白非常吸引人。

• protoplasm: 原生质，细胞质。例如：Protoplasm is essential for life. 原生质对生命至关重要。

• proton: 质子。例如：A proton has a positive charge. 质子带正电。
