a. Although most undergraduate degrees allow students the opportunity to study modules and classes of personal interest, a graduate degree does this to a much greater extent. 

b. In order to get the most out of my graduate degree, I will be expected to conduct personal research alongside set study topics, in order to develop my thoughts and ideas regarding something that deeply interests me.

Grad school provides a stable forum to research and explore theories and ideas. If during my degree I conduct any research that is particularly exceptional, the chances are I’ll be recognized for that achievement by the academic community – perhaps by being invited to present my paper at a conference, contribute to a research project, and even receive accreditation in a piece of work published in a journal. 

I know that international recognition is also a prospect for those who continue their research after graduation, and one day, I wish I may become a prominent expert in my field.

Either way, I understand that students applying to graduate school should do so with their eyes on the future, seeing further study as an investment in their own potential and not simply as a way to postpone the end of student life.

A graduate degree improves my professional options and prospects.

Going to grad school can help me prepare myself for a career transition—whether it be switching sectors, changing industries, or jumping into a new role. I can develop advanced skills in mycurrent specialty, or provide a solid foundation for a completely new area of focus.

Grad school is also a great place to network. My fellow professionals, classmates, and peers will be useful connections to develop and maintain as I continue in my career, both during and after my graduate program.

Graduate degrees open doors and are sought-after assets in the labour market. An increasing number of employers are hiring employees with master’s degrees for positions previously only requiring a bachelor degree. Labour market outcomes show that master and doctorate graduates are the most likely to obtain a job they had hoped for after graduation. And I really want to be more competitive in the job market, so that's why I determined to get a Master's Degree.
