About five thousand years ago, people noticed that smelting copper with tin produced bronze.
Bronze was harder and more durable than all other metals of the time. This quickly became a significant technological advantage over stone weapons.
This started the Bronze Age.
For 2,000 years, Empires that had access to bronze weapons ruled the world … until the next technological revolution happened.
This started the Iron Age.
Iron is harder, stronger than bronze, plus it’s a bendable metal.
This discovery changed humanity ... again.
Soon, civilizations that possessed iron dominated the earth, and the manufacturing secrets to making iron represented a significant competitive advantage.
For the first time in history, knowledge became a critical factor in achieving global domination.
Now, to answer your question, will there be more rich or more poor in the future?
Sadly, there will be more poor people.
Why?
Because of the growing technological divide.
The internet has changed everything.
Today we have a new economy. It’s the information age — an economy based on data and knowledge. Everything has changed, well, except people and our educational system.

What has changed with the time is old saying that “money begets more money…”.
Place of ‘money’ has now been taken over by the 'knowledge' and finally the 'knowledge of leveraging’.

Yes… knowledge of using LEVERAGE.

“…Will there be more rich or poor people in the future?”
If the current trend continues then there will be more rich people.
The caveat is how are you measuring ‘rich’ and ‘poor.’
Because you have to have something to measure against there is always going to be a ‘rich’ and a ‘poor’ so the question becomes how are you tracking the trend of rich and poor?
Absolute poverty has been reduced world-wide by 50% in the last hundred years. That’s a good thing.
The measured wealth of ‘the rich’ has reached levels that simply boggle the mind and the top are so far above the bottom that there isn’t even really a reasonable way to display the data in graph form. That is, despite what many will try and tell you, also a good thing.
If you compare the difference between rich and poor, that measure is getting ‘badder’ because the rich are getting richer at a rate that is many, many times faster than the poor are getting richer. The point that gets missed is the poor are getting richer too, just no where near as fast as the rich are doing it.
So like I said… if the current trends continue then the the poor in the future will be less poor than now so the answer to your question is less poor people in the future.
