1 resonate with

If something resonates, it seems important or good to people, or continues to do this.

A lot of contents we’re going to talk through will resonate with quite a few people who are listening.

2 stigma

A strong feeling in society that being in particular situation or having a particular illness is something to be ashamed of

ex: they have all suffered grievously : shamed, stigma and extreme social exclusion.

2 juncture

A particular point in an activity or period of time

critical juncture = very important point

4 stalemate

A situation in which it seems impossible to settle an argument or disagreement, and neither side can get an advantage

Congress remains in a stalemate over the federal budget.

5 burnout

The feeling of always being tired because you have been working too hard

6 heap

A large untidy pile of things

There are heaps of reasons why you might be feeling lost right now.

7 ramble

To talk for a long time in a way that does not seem clearly organized, so that other people find it difficult to understand you.

8 knick-knack

A small object used as a decoration(小摆设)

I did random little knick knack jobs that I found on the internet.

9 pessimistic

Expecting that bad things will happen in the future or that something will have a bad result.

That is a lot harder for some people versus others especially those who are just naturally pessimistic.

10 tangible

Change enough or define enough to be easily seen or noticed

Ex: the scheme must have tangible benefits for the unemployment.

11 overarching

Including or influencing every part of something (首要的,包罗万象的)

Ex The crisis gave an overarching part justification to the government’s policy

Your mission is kind of your overarching objective.

12 strive

To make a great effort to achieve something

Strive towards

I was still striving to be successful.

13 ponder

To spend time thinking carefully and seriously about a problem, a difficult question, or something that has happened.

Ex: ponder the problem
