第二十三节 “容 忍”的翻译

下面几个动词后面都可以跟 v.-ing 或不定式。

1. Jasper could not forbear giving a special smile at Professor Clun, as though

including him in a bond of peculiar pleasure at Rose's reminiscences.

5. I couldn't bear to listen any longer, so I left the room.

6. The teacher cannot tolerate eating on the class. 老师不容许在课堂上吃东西。

8. I can't endure to see / seeing animals suffer like that.
