英语十大词类：名动形副……

名词：作主语、宾语、表语，偶尔作定语

动词：作谓语、非谓语

形容词：作定语、表语、宾语补足语，偶尔作状语

副词：作状语，修饰形容词、动词、其他副词

1. 名词和形容词混淆

【误】We should learn some general medicine knowledge.

【正】We should learn some general medical knowledge.

我们都应该学点医药常识。

medicine名词，意为“医学，医药，医术”；

medical形容词，意为“医学的”，作定语修饰knowledge，意为“医药常识”。

2. 形容词和副词的混淆

【误】On a winter morning the old beggar was found lying deadly in the snow.

【正】On a winter morning the old beggar was found lying dead in the snow.

一个冬日的早晨，人们发现那个老乞丐躺在雪地里死了。

deadly为形容词，意为“致命的，致死的”；dead也为形容词，意为“死的，无感觉的”。

【误】Doctors made a carefully examination and found nothing wrong.

【正】Doctors made a careful examination and found nothing wrong.

医生们作了仔细检查，但找不出毛病来。

carefully为副词，careful为形容词。这里修饰examination这个名词，应该用形容词。
