Translation of Umm
Umm. Different stances would inevitably lead to different approaches towards the same problem. As far as I am concerned, PVZ bar has nothing to do with me; all I care about is the game itself. The history of this game has been the history of defensing the indefensible and working the unworkable. As for the 'cultural components', be it the aesthetics of a build, the hard work of gameplay practice, the finesse in details, or even the philosophy of endless builds, they are no more than a culture for entertainment. It is perfectly fine to pursue such a culture, but if it makes very little contribution to technological advancement, it is best to be avoided for our interests. Otherwise, it would most likely culminate in some laughable sentiments of self-pity.
The technology circles, from my point of view, should be dedicated solely to the exploration and exploitation of gaming techniques. Human beings are complicated, but human beings on the Internet may be incomplete and therefore simple. Hence, it is possible to extract an abstract sense of collectivist will as the base of technology circles. In my ideal, everyone should regard the advancement of technology as their primary duty, and always assess the value of findings on the basis of logical, impersonal judgement. I wouldn't pessimistically hope that PVZers several years from now should admire our antiquated 'culture', which would have lost its depths. Rather, my hope is that the technology circles, alongside with the PVZers who are passionate for exploring the potential of this great game, would become one organic collection and last long, even forever.
As for last, I'd like to present this table of contents. It's not complete yet; I got stuck on one or two of the concepts. If I ever finish writing it one day, I hope the skyscraper of technology will then be built purely on the basis of logic, as opposed to some encyclopedia or glossory, alas.
