少年中国说(节选) The young China-Excerpt 故今日之责任，不在他人，而全在我少年。 It is the young rather than others that should shoulder the responsibility of today's China. 少年智则国智， If the young are wise, so will be our country. 少年富则国富， If the young are rich, so will be our country. 少年强则国强， If the young are strong, so will be our country. 少年独立则国独立， If the young are independent, so will be our country. 少年自由则国自由， If the young are free, so will be our country. 少年进步则国进步， If the young make progress, so will do our country. 少年胜于欧洲则国胜于欧洲 ， If the young win the Europe, so will do our country. 少年雄于地球则国雄于地球。 If the young stand out in the world, so will do our country. 红日初升，其道大光。 As the red sun rises, casting golden light over the land. 河出伏流，一泻汪洋。 As the Yellow River rushes out, overwhelming any barriers. 潜龙腾渊，鳞爪飞扬。 As the hidden dragon flies up from cliffs, waving its claws. 乳虎啸谷，百兽震惶。 As the tiger cub roars in mountains, scaring all other monsters. 鹰隼试翼，风尘翕张。 As the young eagle spreads its wings, raising clouds of dust. 奇花初胎，矞矞皇皇。 As the fancy flower buds, blooming in shiny sun. 干将发硎，有作其芒。 As the invincible general sharpens his sword, making it sparkling. 天戴其苍，地履其黄。 With endless sky overhead, vast land beneath, 纵有千古，横有八荒。 we witnessed long history in broad territory. 前途似海，来日方长。 Our future is full of hope like boundless ocean; we still have a long way to go in coming days. 美哉我少年中国，与天不老！ The beautiful China will keep her vigor despite the passing of time. 壮哉我中国少年，与国无疆！ The poweful China will forever maintain her strength all over the world.
