Carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere hit another new record

Scientists have been measuring the concentration of co2 in the atmosphere since 1954.

数据现状描述：Every May since 1964, the concentrations of planet-warming gas have reached new heights. This year the monthly average concentration of atmospheric co2 peaked at 420 ppm.

数据变化对比：Levels of greenhouse gas are now 30% higher than when measurements began 64 years ago and 50% higher than pre-industrial times/age.

To limit warming in around 1.5~ above pre-industrial levels, gas emissions would have to peak in 2025 and be reduced to net-zero by 2050, halting the rise in atmospheric co2.

Net-zero means achieving a balance between the carbon emitted into the atmosphere and the carbon removed from it. Another term is carbon neutral, which is a policy of not increasing carbon emissions and achieving carbon reductions through offsets. 节能减排
