eye-catcher, 这个看字面其实就能猜出意思了，能抓住你眼球的，那就是视觉上对你有吸引力呗。英文的解释很简单，visually attractive; a striking person or thing that attracts attention. 就是引人注目的人或物体。

That new girl in our class is a real eye-catcher.

也可以用 eye-catching 的形式作为形容词来使用。

在很多正式文章里我们总看到什么某活动、某事情在如火如荼地进行中、正在全面开展中、或者说气氛热烈、活动进入高潮了什么的，有一个几乎是用滥了的英译，就是 in full swing. 英文的解释是，actively going on, in full action, in full operation, at the highest level of activity, or has already been happening for sometime, rather than being in its early stages. 就是讲事情进行到了最热烈、活跃，投入力量最大的时候。

据说这个词18世纪中叶就有了，到了1867年就已经进入了"cliche"的范畴了，然而到今天依旧用的很多。可见大家对这个词有多烦。太常见了。最初也是取 swing 这个动作，做到满幅度所能达到的力度来形容活动、行动的活跃度或投入程度。
