这两只狗都有1%的郊狼成分，尚不清楚是什么原因造成的，nature上的那篇大作Grey wolf genomic history reveals a dual ancestry of dogs提到了一嘴：We found a slight west–east gradient of increasing coyote affinity among Eurasian wolves, but this pattern probably reflects admixture into coyotes from North American wolves (which are related to wolves in eastern Siberia).不知道是否和这个有关。
