SITUATION  任务态势

After being forced to divert to Akrotiri Air Base, Flip spent a pleasant and rather long evening in the O-club in the company of fellow aviators from the Royal Air Force. Knight managed to safely trap onboard USS Valley Forge, leaving Wilson as the only American in the British facility on Cyprus.

USS Valley Forge messaged Akrotiri that Navy Alpha Hotel four-oh-five is expected overhead the carrier at 0840 LT, suggesting that Flip would have to depart around 0810 hours. The weather has somewhat improved, and the METAR reported for LCRA is as follows:

METAR LCRA 230430Z 03004KT BKN077 SCT170 68/14 A2970=

Mother’s TACAN is 110X, expected position N32 42, E 33 44, frequency 144.000 AM. There is a tanker overhead, callsign Texaco, on 22X. Departure frequency 121.400 AM.

Flip is to proceed directly to Mother, call Knight on 254.500 reporting he is airborne, then contact Marshal.

Valley Forge号航母命令在Akrotiri基地的405号机，于当地时间8:40返回航母，通知Flip8:10左右出发。那时天气状况会好转，Akrotiri基地航空天气报告(Meteorological Terminal Aviation Routine Weather Report)如下：
