The story of Chinese zodiac

As the representative of Chinese culture, the zodiac is more and more concerned by people.

       十二生肖作为中国文化的代表，越来越受人们的关注。

The twelve zodiac is the representative of the twelve Earthly Branches, namely, Zi (rat), Chou (ox), Yin (tiger), Mao (rabbit), Chen (Dragon), Si (snake), Wu (horse), Wei (sheep), Shen (Monkey), You (chicken), Xu (dog), Hai (pig). Each zodiac has rich legends.
       十二生肖是十二地支的形象代表，即子(鼠)、丑(牛)、寅(虎)、卯(兔)、辰(龙)、巳(蛇)、午(马)、未(羊)、申(猴)、酉(鸡)、戌(狗)、亥(猪)，每一种生肖都有丰富的传说。

Hello, everybody. My name is Li Yanhe. My English name is Harry. I'm in Class Five, Grade Four. Today, I'll tell you a story about Chinese zodiac.
      大家好，我叫李炎赫。我的英文名字叫Harry。我在四五班。今天我为大家讲一个中国生肖的故事。

Do you know what you are? There is a small white rabbit, there is a big tiger... Is there a cat? No, how is a mouse, not a cat? There's a story here.

       你知道自己属什么吗？有属小白兔的，有属大老虎的...有属猫的吗？没有，怎么有属老鼠的，没有属猫的呢？这里有个故事。

Long long ago, one day, people said: "We want to choose twelve kinds of animals as people's zodiac, a year of animal." How many animals are there in the world? How to choose? So, set a good day, on this day, the animals come to register, the first twelve animals will be the twelve zodiac.

       很久很久以前，有一天，人们说：“我们要选十二种动物作为人的生肖，一年一种动物。”天下的动物有多少呀？怎么个选法呢？这样吧，定好一个日子，这一天，动物们来报名，就选先到的十二种动物为十二生肖。

Cat and mouse are neighbours and good friends. They all want to sign up. The cat said: "We have to get up early in the morning to sign up, but I love to sleep, how to do?" The mouse said: "Don't worry, just sleep. I'll wake you up. Let's go together." The cat was very happy, said: "You are my good friend. Thank you."

         猫和老鼠是邻居，又是好朋友，它们都想去报名。猫说：“咱们得一早起来去报名，可是我爱睡懒觉，怎么办呢？”老鼠说：“别着急，你尽管睡你的大觉，我去叫醒你，咱们一块儿去。”猫听了很高兴，说：“你真是我的好朋友，谢谢你了。”

On the morning of the day, the mouse woke up early. He forgot his friend cat and went to sign up for himself. The mouse was chosen. What about the cat? Because the cat got up too late, as it arrived, twelve kinds of animals have been selected. The cat had not been chosen, but the mouse was the first one.

       到了报名那天早晨，老鼠早就醒来了，可是它把好朋友猫的事给忘了,就自己去报名了。结果，老鼠被选上了。猫呢？猫因为起床太迟了，等它赶到时，十二种动物已被选定了。猫没有被选上，但老鼠却成了第一名。

From then on, whenever the cat saw the mouse ,he ran to eat it, the mouse had to run all the way. It's like this till now. 
      自此以后，猫见了老鼠就要吃它，老鼠就只好拼命地逃。现在还是这样。
