这是是美国歌手约翰·丹佛演唱的一首歌曲，词曲由约翰·丹佛、Bill Danoff、Taffy Nivert共同创作，由Milt Okun和Susan Ruskin担任制作人，于1971年4月12日作为单曲发行，后收录于专辑《Poem, Prayers & Promises》中。
1971年，学习建筑专业的约翰·丹佛决定放弃学业，潜心从事乡村歌曲的创作与演唱。虽然起初受到别人的嘲笑，但他始终不为所动，并创作出了歌曲《乡村路带我回家》 。该曲经常被认为是思乡的歌，但歌曲的主题其实是环保公益 。歌词中之所以用“Dark and dusty”来描绘被煤灰烟尘笼罩的天空，是因为西弗吉尼亚是美国著名的产煤州。
