这种用法与汉语思维模式基本一致。

1. The story unfolds as the film goes on. 随着影片的放映，故事情节展开了。

2. My portmanteau had of course come open. 我的旅行箱当然已经开了。

3. The rifle flashed out with a loud report. 一声很响的枪声。

4. The prepared tea-table in front of the fire made a glittering array.

火堆前准备好的茶桌闪闪发光。

5. To the right the road continued up the main valley; to the left it went over the big

bridge.

往右，这条路继续往这个主山谷的上方延伸；往左，经过一座大桥。
