Da and De
da和de

Although both da and de can be translated into English as of,they have different meanings:

尽管da和de都能翻译成英语里面的of，但是它们有着不同的意思

Use da when you're talking about quantity. 
Da用在你谈及数量的时候 

Use de when talking about possession. 
De用在你谈及拥有东西的时候 （归属权？）

 Note: the direct object -n ending (accusative)is not used after da or de.

注意：直接宾语的词n（宾格）并不用加在da和de的后面

For example:

Kiom
Kiom means "how much" or "how many." 
Kiom意思是“多少” 

How much do you eat?
Kiom vi manĝas? 
你吃了多少？ 

How much do you love me?
Kiom vi amas min? 
你有多爱我？ 

How much is in the cup?
Kiom estas en la taso? 
杯子里有多少？

kiom da
When you ask "how much" or "how many" of a specific thing or things, the word"of" can not be omitted as it is in English: 
当你问“多少”（how much/how many）具体事物时，of是可以省略的（原文是of在英语里是不可或缺的，不过下面的例子中of都是用括号标记好的，估计是原文有误）

How much (of) bread do you eat?
Kiom da pano vi manĝas? 
你吃了多少面包

How many (of) apples do you eat?
Kiom da pomoj vi manĝas? 
你吃了多少苹果

How much (of) tea is in the cup?
Kiom da teo estas en la taso? 
茶杯里有多少茶

multe da
Multe da means alot of, lots of, or many: 
multe da 意思是很多（a lot of, lots of,或者many）


A lot of milk
Multe da lakto 
很多奶


Many (or a lot of)people
Multe da homoj 
很多人


kiom aĝas
How old are you? 
Kiom viaĝas? 
怎么老是你（误 )

你多大了？
(Literally: How much you are-age?) 
（直译：你年龄多少了？） 

Kiom is used with age, since age is a quantity (of years). 
Kiom和年龄一同使用，因为年龄也是一种数量（年数）

Note: An alternative way to ask someone's age is Kiom da jaroj vi havas? (Literally"How many years do you have?") 
注意：一般问某个人的年龄是用Kiom da jaroj vi havas?，(直译过来是你已经拥有多少年了?)

manko de
A lack of...
缺乏

A lack of something isnot considered a quantity, so one says manko de and never manko da. 缺乏什么东西并不被认为是一种数量，所以是说manko de而不是manko da

For example例如: 
A lack of money
Manko de mono 
缺乏小钱钱

When you're talking about a quantity of a specific thing or set of things, as opposed to a type ofthing, you use de la. 
当你谈及到某具体事物的数量或者一组东西而不是一类东西的时候，你要用da，例如： 

Mi bezonas 5 kilogramojn da sukero.
I need 5 kilograms of sugar. 
我需要5公斤的糖


Mi bezonas 5 kilogramojn de la sukero. 
I need 5 kilograms of the sugar. 
我需要那糖5公斤


Mi volas aĉeti 10 botelojn da biero.
I want to buy 10 bottles of beer. 
我要买10瓶啤酒


Mi volas aĉeti 10 botelojn de la plej bona biero. 
I want to buy 10 bottles of the best beer. 
我需要10瓶最好的啤酒


Kiom da nigra pano vi aĉetas?
How much black bread are you buying? 
你买了多少黑面包？


Kiom de la nigra pano vi aĉetas?
How much of the black bread are you buying? 
你买了多少那黑面包？

Another way of expressing this is that "da" connects two words, in which the first expresses a measurement (like kiom, boteloj, kilogramoj)
另一种表达方法是da（前后）连接两类词，第一类是度量（例如多少瓶，千克） 

and the second is a category(like sukero, biero, pano). 
第二种是种类（如糖，啤酒，面包）

"Bovloj"is a category, while "la bovloj" is not; it is a specific item. 
“bovloj”（bovlo是碗）是一个种类，而“la bolvoj”就不是了，它是一个具体的事物。


A general rule you can remember is that "da" is never followed immediately by "la +X". 
通常你要记住“da”是永远不会直接跟着“la+X”的
