用过G200 G400 G450一直到08年换系统，才不用matrox的卡，那时候市场上也没什么他的产品了，不然我还会用

当年的2D卡一哥，当年Millennium配Voodoo是最佳搭档。当年Matrox和3dfx以及ATI一样，都是自己设计芯片自己造卡。
在3D大潮中和S3以及3dfx和Trident一起被淘汰，不过一直保持独立，现在很多服务器上可以找到他们的G200显卡（纯VGA输出）

在2000年前，有五家显卡公司，分别是ati，matrox，威盛S3，nvidia，voodoo，随着时间的流逝和竞争，voodoo，威盛先后退出了市场，ati也被amd收购，matrox没想到还活着。它以前在2d领域有优势，那时用ps等二维软件

The Millennium G200 was a graphics card by Matrox,
launched in 1998. Built on the 350 nm process, and based on the Eclipse
graphics processor, in its MGA-G200A-B variant, the card supports
DirectX 5.0. Since Millennium G200 does not support DirectX 11 or
DirectX 12, it might not be able to run all the latest games. It
features 1 pixel shader and 1 vertex shader 1 texture mapping unit and 1
ROP. Due to the lack of unified shaders you will not be able to run
recent games at all (which require unified shader/DX10+ support). Matrox
has paired 8 MB SGR memory with the Millennium G200, which are
connected using a 64-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a
frequency of 84 MHz, memory is running at 143 MHz.
Being a
single-slot card, the Matrox Millennium G200 does not require any
additional power connector, its power draw is not exactly known. Display
outputs include: 1x DVI, 1x VGA. Millennium G200 is connected to the
rest of the system using a PCI interface. The card measures 150 mm in
length, and features a single-slot cooling solution.
