If you bring enough people and hit a resonate frequency on purpose, every structure will eventually get damaged.
You can't defend every single person from their own stupidity. Who's at fault here? Local police for not guarding a small pedestrian bridge 24/7? Teacher at local high school for not teaching those people basic physics?
Bridge design seems to be solid, it was there for 100 years and serviced regular pedestrian traffic. Was is "tested" by 500 tiktokers in similar way during those years? Probably not.

Terrible tragedy. My sympathy for the people of India from Canada, I hope that some changes can be made to avoid tragedies like this where people were supposed to be celebrating but now they are mourning.
