Ella Mai’s breakout single “Boo’d Up” is a luxurious track unconcerned with the passing of time, with a glistening instrumental by DJ Mustard and a vocal that moves through the melody like falling into someone’s arms. It’s also an exceedingly unlikely Top 10 hit.
