Initially, only a variety of cute figures were put into the boxes of the same packaging. Nowadays, the categories of goods in blind boxes haven't been limited to figures. The blind boxes for stationery, books and so on have attracted considerable audiences as well. Purchasing blind boxes has become one of pop cultures among today's young people. But meanwhile, the phenomenon that some people are crazy about buying blind boxes also provokes people's thought about rational consumption to a certain extent.
评析：首先对于盲盒翻译成blind box，这个翻译就不符合盲盒最初的定义。如果直接翻译成blind box，这表示“双目失明的盒子”，而盲盒最初的含义是里面类似于抽奖一样的包装，所以里面是未知的。正确的翻译是mystery box。本文给出的翻译，还有很多可以改善语法之处。

解析：
1- 具体款式：当具体到某一款款式的时候，可以使用model或者item。前者多为某一大系列中的小款式，或者很多车款中的一款。比如红旗轿车中的旗舰车型：the flagship model of the FAW-Hongqi family.
2- 为主要特征：主要是体现其独特性。可以直接翻译：One main characteristic of mystery boxes is that…
或者What is unique to / distinctive of mystery boxes is that…
3- 只有……才能，这里等同于“直到……才”，可以使用Only when… can… 的倒装句结构，或者not…until的固定搭配：Only when a buyer open the mystery box can he/she know whether it is their desired model / the model that he/she has longed for.
或者：A buyer will not know whether he/she has got the wanted model until the box is opened.（上文反复提及mystery box，处于简化语言的目的，使行文流畅，box就已经代表盲盒）
4- 因其独有的新鲜性和刺激性：网络参考译文给的是freshness。但是我个人看来这个词汇有待商榷，尚存争议。freshness偏向于精气神的饱满，瓜果蔬菜新鲜的状态，思想思维的先进更新。而这里所谓的新鲜是很多未知的东西，比如Full of mystery. 而网络参考译文中的刺激性写的是stimulation，这里也值得商榷，个人使用的是excitement。Stimulation更偏向于精神激励。参考几个译文如下

6- 引发了人们对于理性消费的思考：引发可以用evoke, provoke。对……的思考：the thoughts over/on/about，理性消费：rational purchasing / purchases，也可以用动名词：spending (one’s) money wisely，对……的思考还可以用动词形式：ponder over sth.
7- 一定程度上：to some extent / to a certain extent / in a way，in the wake of：意识到……（的结果），间接体现出由……引发（参考《新一代大学英语》Unit 2 – iExplore 2 – Lessons Learned from a Parasite）

Mystery boxes refer to those boxed toys that a buyer cannot tell what the exact models are before unpacking. One main characteristic of mystery boxes is that people buy them through choosing randomly. A buyer will not know whether he/she has got the wanted model until the box is opened. As they are full mystery and excitement, making it a distinctive character from any other toys, mystery boxes are much loved by young people today. To begin with, mystery boxes of the same packaging were stuffed only with lovely figures. While in present days, what is stuffed in a mystery box has gone far beyond these figures, boxed stationery, books and stuff of other forms are also drawing tons of attention, making buying mystery boxes a trend amongst the young. Amongst the waves, however, people have also started, to some extent, pondering on spending money wisely in the wake of crazy spending on mystery boxes.
