Two-Word Phrases

an adjective and a noun make a descriptive phrase,and the second word is stressed.

Two nouns make a compund noun,or set phrase ,and the first word is stressed.

Three-Word Phrases

When you continue to modify a set phrase , you maintain the original intonation pattern and simply add an additional stress point.

In short phrases ~teen can be thought of as a separate word in terms of intonation .

In longer phrases !teen becomes one word
