Felix Su：Ismail, I have to disagree on one point. It is NOT that Middle Easterners can’t get thing done or do thing right. You look at history of the Middle East and civilization started there.

The problem that the Middle East has had is that they discovered religion. Not just religion but overwhelming, heavy handed religion where the religion subsumed everything.

China was lucky in that that kind of religion never took root in China. So China was able to develop. Then at China’s weakest moment the West showed up with superior military weapons and look at what happened. It took China over a hundred and fifty years to get back on the road.

The Middle East, Egypt is now on the road to development. Since China isn’t trying to steal other nation’s wealth, China has no problems actually helping other nations.

Egypt now has fish farms along the Egyptian coast. With some tech and knowledge transfer, Egypt is growing food in the desert using greenhouses. Not much happened in the last 50 years of US rule.

But with China, Egypt is developing and using technology to master the environment. China has also shown that you can green deserts. Did you know that over 100,000 years ago, Egypt used to be green? Completely green. That can happen again. It will take decades of work but so what?

China has shown that after 25 years of hard work, they turned a desert into forest and grass land.

China will help Egypt build dams so that Egypt will never run out of water. It turns out that the US and the West was the hand behind the scenes preventing development. Now that that hidden hand is gone. Egypt and the Middle East can now develop.

China has been like a bamboo, is high growth is visible since 80s but it has been developing deeper roots for the initial 30 years.

Great leadership, emphasing on education & technology, improving infrastructure, accepting their weaknesses & strengths humbly & helping other nations succeed via several iniatives thus extending their engineering capability capacities. In short, Human Resource development is moving at a faster rate than most nations with meritocracy & little of the political nuances (cronyism & corruption) that is rocking many Asian & African nations greatly.
