This is a design that grows from small to large, exploring the possibility of a space where humans and small animals can coexist.

We tried to ask ourselves whether there is a possibility to design a residence for small animals and at the same time make a certain design for human beings themselves, so that small animals and human beings can be connected on the physical level of space, so that the two can have more possibilities to get along in a space.

Generally speaking, the human use of space is designed in accordance with the human scale, for example, 450mm is the height of the chair, 900 is the height of the windowsill and railing. 1350 is the height of the chest and counter, 1800 is the height of the human body. And small animals tend to do subtractive space as a residence, let's say the interior of a cave is perfect for small animals.

We set up a very simple approach, using a 450mm high form as the mother body, whose peripheral curves conform to the curvature of the human body; then subtracting with a series of ellipsoidal bodies to form a burrow unit, which conforms to the habitat of small animals. The unit can be extended horizontally at 120 degrees and vertically in a mirror image, forming a space or furniture that can be used by people on the outside; these subtracted spheres are carefully distributed on the axis so that the assembled collection also has a series of rounded cavities through the interior for small animals to use.

At this point the collection as a whole creates a range of possibilities: different numbers of units can form a myriad of different shapes, sometimes a combination of urban furniture, sometimes a wall that can be traversed.

The design is available in two versions, one in solid wood CNC carved and one in lighter recyclable EPP foam.
